Digital Notebook Throwdown (2026): Kindle Scribe, ReMarkable Paper Pure

I also like that the Kindle Scribe stylus has a button on it that switches to highlight mode, which is especially convenient as a reader if you wanted to easily switch from underlining or note-taking to highlighting a passage. While the ReMarkable is more accurate and has an impressive paper feel to it, I actually think either Scribe model feels a little more comfortable and convenient to use, especially since you don’t need to pay extra for the eraser point. But the slimmer second-generation Scribe is slightly more comfortable to write with, at least for my hands. Reading Winner: Both Kindle Scribes Photograph: Nena Farell If you’re looking at these devices more as a reader and less as a note-taker, then you’ll want to pick a Kindle Scribe. While you can read books on any ReMarkable device, whether it’s the Paper Pure or another model, you have to manually download the files onto your ReMarkable through the ReMarkable desktop or mobile app. That means you need to have the PDF or ePUB file version of …

ReMarkable Paper Pure vs. Amazon Kindle Scribe: I’ve written on both E Ink tablets – this one wins

ReMarkable Paper Pure vs. Amazon Kindle Scribe: I’ve written on both E Ink tablets – this one wins

Manufacturer or Full Name/ZDNET Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. ReMarkable just announced its new digital paper tablet for note-taking and sketching, called the Paper Pure. It comes to market at the same $399 starting price as one of its biggest competitors, Amazon’s Kindle Scribe. If you’ve had your eye on either tablet and are confused about which one is better, I don’t blame you.  The Kindle Scribe from 2024 is not the newest model — but it’s the version I recommend and one of Amazon’s top-rated tablets for its price point and functionality. It’s also the same starting price of $399 as the Paper Pure, and the closest in features.  Also: I’ve tested several ReMarkable tablets, but its new cheap E Ink tablet had me fooled In fact, there’s evidence to suggest these two devices’ designs are influenced by one another. After the success of ReMarkable’s Paper Pro, Amazon took a page from ReMarkable’s pro-minded features that emphasize distraction-free work. In turn, the Paper Pure seems to have taken a few design …

Live-Action Tangled Scribe Michael Montemayor Signs with CAA

Live-Action Tangled Scribe Michael Montemayor Signs with CAA

Michael Montemayor, the rising screenwriter with a growing social media following, has signed with CAA. The signing comes in the wake of Montemayor selling Court Date, an original feature pitch, to Netflix, earlier in April. Berlanti/Schechter Films, the feature banner run by prolific TV mavens Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, is producing. Montemayor is currently working on Disney’s live-action remake of Tangled, which Michael Gracey is directing and is due to go into production later this spring. Previously, he wrote Stepsisters, a live-action re-imagining of Cinderella focused on her two step-siblings, which attracted Akiva Schaffer as a director. Montemayor began his career as a writer’s assistant to Dana Fox, the veteran rom-com scribe who most recently penned the Wicked movies, while she worked on Cruella for Disney and The Lost City for Paramount. In addition to his film work, the scribe produces social content that has amassed over 40 million views across platforms, with a voice that is focused on celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. He continues to be repped by Kaplan/Perrone, Kim Stenton at Myman Greenspan and BK PR. Source link

Alexa+ and Kindle Scribe Now Work Together With ‘Send to Alexa’

Alexa+ and Kindle Scribe Now Work Together With ‘Send to Alexa’

Once Alexa+ is active, go into the notebook you want to share and tap the share icon in the upper-right corner. (You’ll likely need to tap the top of the page for the menu bar to appear.) Once you click it, it’ll ask if you want to share just the page or the notebook. Both options can be used to share with Alexa. Once you choose one of those, a new menu will appear at the bottom of the screen with a prompt to send to the email your Amazon account is linked to, and a “Send to Alexa” option should be underneath those. Click it and you’re good to go. Once you’re ready to ask about the notes you sent, you’ll want to prompt Alexa with a question like “Provide a summary of [notebook name].” I asked things like, “Give me a recap of my Disney planner notes,” and “Did you get my to-do note?” which prompted Alexa to tell me she found a Quick Notes document I sent.
