I test walking shoes for a living and I haven’t found a pair of Hokas I wouldn’t wear again—here are my picks from the Hoka sale section

Hoka is a firm favorite with runners, walkers and gym-goers alike. I’m an unabashed fan. Every time a new shoe is announced, I’m counting down the days on my calendar. I’ve tested several pairs of Hoka shoes for my guide to the best walking shoes and haven’t yet tried a pair I wouldn’t want to wear again. What’s more, Hoka makes some great outdoor apparel, taking care of the question of what to wear with your nice new sneakers. I’ve been through the sale section of the website with a fine-toothed comb and curated the best deals below for you. I’ve chosen deals with the biggest discounts and the largest variety of sizes still in stock. Many of the shoes are discontinued, so once they’re gone, they won’t be restocked. Zendaya and On Debut Shoe and Clothing Collection in Spike Jonze Film

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, The Hollywood Reporter may receive an affiliate commission. While Zendaya and Swiss sportswear brand On are no stranger to collaboration, their latest release marks a significant milestone in the duo’s multi-year partnership. Available to shop online starting April 16, the SS26 Zendaya x On drop is their first-ever co-created footwear and apparel collection. To accompany the collection, the team tapped Academy Award winner Spike Jonze to direct a campaign short film, Shape of Dreams. Starring Zendaya, the film is set inside her imagined design world, “The Dream Lab.” Here, the team is able to convey the complexity of the creative process through an imaginative and playful lens. Since its debut six days ago, the video has accumulated nearly 10 million views on YouTube alone. Designed alongside Zendaya’s longtime collaborator and “Image Architect” Law Roach, the full collection builds upon the Cloudzone Moon, On and Zendaya’s first co-created sneaker, launched back in August 2025. Now, the head-to-toe capsule spans tops, jackets, …

I’ve tested more than 50 pairs of walking shoes and the very best for waterproofing is now up to 50% off

Truly waterproof shoes are few and far between. There are plenty of water-resistant shoes in my guide to the best walking shoes, but these won’t withstand any serious rain. I got to test out the Columbia Peakfreak Rush Outdry walking shoe recently and—spoiler alert—it’s going to take the title of the best waterproof shoe from the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Low. Columbia is already an affordable outdoor brand, but I often see discounts on its new releases. Still, my jaw dropped when I found the Peakfreak Rush for 50% off on Amazon, the cheapest I’ve ever seen it. I really ran the gauntlet with these shoes, wearing them while sluicing out flowerpots with a hosepipe. Despite significant splashing, my socks were still bone dry once I had finished. As a walking shoe, it is fantastic too. The outsole grips well on slippery surfaces and the shoe feels stable on uneven terrain. It also has toe and heel protection, so if you need to navigate some rocky trail, you’re safe from stubbed toes. It is also …

Robert Pattinson Wore Menswear Guys’ Favorite Shoe in ‘The Drama’

Robert Pattinson Wore Menswear Guys’ Favorite Shoe in ‘The Drama’

If you know anything about me, you’ll know that I’m, first and foremost, a sneaker guy. I can ID a pair from across the street just by the shape of the tongue or the panel layout or the way the sole’s cut. My lovely editor Mahalia Chang calls my talent “scary,” which I choose to take as a compliment. But as much as I’m into trainers, I can also appreciate a good non-sneaker shoe. And one of the best non-sneaker shoes out there is the Paraboot Michael—the same one that Robert Pattinson happens to wear in The Drama. In the A24 movie, Pattinson’s character, Charlie, isn’t exactly what you’d call a high-fashion guy. He’s a museum director who clearly prioritizes comfort over anything else. He’s in Patagonia raincoats most of the time, worn over washed-out checkered shirts or open-collar button-ups with the tails hanging out. His glasses look like they’ve been worn down over years of actual use. Even his sneakers—a pair of Asics GT-2160s—are more about cushioning than clout. And his go-to backpack? An …

I walk 100km a month testing walking shoes and my favorite budget-friendly shoe is now under $60

Outdoor brand Columbia has been growing in my estimation with every product I’ve tried. Despite being quite reasonably priced, everything I try is high-quality and built to last. The first thing I ever tested was the Columbia Konos TRS shoe, which features in my guide to the best walking shoes as my best pick for those on a budget. The price is already a reasonable $100, but you can now get yourself a pair for under $60 at Amazon. It should be obvious to anyone looking at my walking shoe guide that I am fussy about footwear. I demand comfort, cushioning and durability from my walking shoes and if they don’t meet my standards, I won’t recommend them. The Columbia Konos exceeded my expectations in every way. For the price, I expected cheap materials, thin soles and no bounce underfoot whatsoever. Instead, I found it to be comfortable, well-cushioned and to have surprisingly high energy return for what is technically a trail shoe. I wear my Konos everywhere. It is comfortable enough for city stomps …

The Repair Shop: The emotional story behind Britain’s first Black professional ballet dancer Julie Felix and her pointe shoes

Julie Felix, a London-born dancer who is of Caribbean heritage, brought the very ballet shoes she wore for her inaugural professional solo performance four decades ago to the reality series. Her emotional appearance offered a poignant reflection on the profound struggles she endured throughout her pioneering career, with her mother remembered as her staunchest supporter. Ms Felix recounted a pivotal moment in the 1970s when a London ballet company explicitly rejected her due to her race, stating: “we can’t have a brown ballet dancer in the line-up of the swans”. This stark discrimination ultimately compelled her to seek opportunities abroad, shaping her remarkable journey. She subsequently secured a contract with the all-black Dance Theatre …

Sick of Converse and Vans? Lace Up These Slept-On Canvas Sneakers Instead

Sick of Converse and Vans? Lace Up These Slept-On Canvas Sneakers Instead

Moonstar, by way of context, has been making shoes in Kurume, Japan since the late 1800s, which sounds like a made up fact, or at least a strongly exaggerated one, but just so happens to be entirely true. In the early 1900s, the shoe whizzes behind the brand mastered vulcanization—a process that bonds comfortable rubber soles to uppers of various materials, usually canvas—and after that, they never looked back. (Nota bene: For all of you Tabi freaks, Moonstar still makes a version of its Jikatabi silhouette, which was originally introduced in 1912 and might go even harder now than it did then.) Over a century later, Moonstar’s low-top canvas kicks are as carefully and caringly constructed as sneakers get, imbued with the full might of those 150-plus-years of institutional knowledge and know-how. Not to slander a product so iconic it’s essentially part of the public domain, but that’s a pedigree even Chucks might struggle to compete with. Madewell x Moonstar Moonstar Low Trainer Sneakers And Chucks are an apt comparison here, given that the three …
