Coronation Street reveals new prime suspect for Theo Silverton murder

The face of a new suspect in the Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) murder investigation has been placed on the evidence board in Coronation Street. Last month, following wedding celebrations on the cobbles, Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) found his body in the corner shop backyard. We know, from quotes from series producer Kate Brooks to Radio Times and other media, that the reveal of the murderer won’t come until late June or July. That means that, in true soap opera style, pretty much every Weatherfield resident will be questioned in the meantime. So far we’ve seen George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) questioned, though the full list of suspects include Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson). Coronation Street star teases major twist in Theo Silverton whodunnit reveal

Coronation Street spoilers follow. Former Coronation Street star James Cartwright has teased that a major twist will come in the ITV soap’s latest whodunnit storyline, which began following the murder of the evil Theo Silverton. The villain was found dead earlier this month after his body was discovered by Betsy Swain on the day of Carla and Lisa’s wedding, with the development coming at the end of the soap’s aptly-dubbed ‘Murder Week’. While we don’t know who committed the crime, the suspect list has been whittled down to six individuals: Summer Spellman, Danielle Silverton, Todd Grimshaw, Gary Windass, George Shuttleworth and Christina Boyd. ITV Related: Best streaming services UK 2026 – including Disney Plus, Netflix, iPlayer and Apple TV George, Gary and Todd have already been brought in for questioning by the police, with bonds becoming fractured as accusations fly around. Who killed Theo Silverton (James Cartwright)? Speculation has been rife among Coronation Street fans since it was confirmed that Todd Grimshaw’s (Gareth Pierce) abusive ex-partner was the murder victim teased months ago. And in tonight’s episode, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) confirms the hunt for the perpetrator gets underway this week, with he and Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) set to hold a series of “intense interrogations” to uncover what really happened in Theo’s final moments. “Everyone on the street is struggling to comprehend that one of their own is a murderer, but for the suspects, the fight is to keep their secrets hidden,” reads the official synopsis. “This month, the pressure mounts to a breaking point as the hunt for Theo’s killer commences.” So, who’s in the firing line? Nancy Silverton to receive James Beard lifetime achievement award; plus 9 local finalists

The James Beard Foundation Awards — some of the country’s most prestigious accolades in the dining and beverage industries — just announced the 2026 finalists, with nine of them in the Los Angeles area. This year’s awards will also recognize two L.A.-based aid organizations and the recipient of the lifetime achievement award, L.A. chef, restaurateur and cookbook author Nancy Silverton. The James Beard Foundation said in its announcement that “Silverton has mentored countless chefs, bakers and restaurateurs who have since defined their own culinary identities and meaningfully contributed to the independent restaurant ecosystem.” Silverton joins the ranks of past awardees including Ruth Reichl, Wolfgang Puck, Toni Tipton-Martin, Madhur Jaffrey and Martin Yan, among others. In January the foundation released the year’s semifinalists, which included two dozen individuals, restaurants and bars in the L.A. region. The nine remaining nominees run the gamut of the city’s cuisines and talent, from fine-dining tasting menus to chefs based in a Historic South-Central food hall.
