Bumble’s paying users are slipping as it bets on an overhaul later this year

As Bumble gets ready for a big overhaul meant to win back Gen Z users (who are pretty over dating apps right now), its latest earnings still reports that paying users are declining. In the first quarter of 2026, total paying users fell 21.1% to 3.2 million, down from 4 million a year ago.  This has been the story for a few quarters now. However, during the call to investors this afternoon, Bumble has framed this as a deliberate shift toward higher-quality, more intentional users. So while total revenue dropped 14.1% to $212.4 million (though it did beat expectations), and Bumble app revenue fell to $172.7 million, its total average revenue per paying user increased nearly 9%. It also reported higher profits: Net earnings increased to $52.6 million compared to $19.8 million in the year-ago quarter (largely from cutting sales and marketing expenses). Apple released macOS Tahoe last September, but despite two point updates since then, it is still struggling to resolve an embarrassing interface issue in Finder that appears to have been introduced with its Liquid Glass redesign. If you updated your Mac to macOS Tahoe and you prefer to work in Finder’s column view, there’s a good chance you’ve been frustrated by the glitch, which developer Jeff Johnson has been admirably tracking over on his blog. But in macOS 26 and macOS 26.2, when scroll bars are set to “always show,” the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom overlaps and covers those handles, so you can’t click them to adjust column widths the way you could in earlier macOS versions like Sequoia. In 2023, the TV personality, 65, shared that she had been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. Aged just 61 at the time, Phillips had been suffering from brain fog and anxiety but had chalked this up to menopause, rather than the degenerative memory condition. Standing by her side since has been Frizell, the long-standing boss at ITV’s This Morning who stepped down in December 2024 as he was “expecting [his] family priorities to change” in 2026. He and Phillips live with their two adult sons, Nathaniel, 26, and Mackenzie, 23.
