Swiss misses give them World Cup headache after Qatar slipup

SANTA CLARA, California, June 13 : Switzerland were confident of having their best-ever World Cup run, but their journey became a whole lot more complex after an unfathomable bout of misfiring opened the door for unheralded Qatar to snatch a point in their Group B opener. The Swiss swagger was abundant in the blazing sunshine on Saturday, as a side playing in their sixth successive World Cup delivered a California crowd-pleaser by laying siege to the Qatar goal for almost the entire match, with a whopping 26 attempts.  They went ahead early through a Breel Embolo penalty but couldn’t build on that, paying dearly for a stoppage-time defensive lapse that allowed Qatar to level, with Boualem Khoukhi’s header going in off defender Miro Muheim, sparking jubilant scenes and leaving the Swiss shell-shocked. During Wednesday’s segment, the anchors were discussing the highly anticipated release of the forthcoming sequel, starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. “By the way, you know how that movie’s going to be good?” Melvin, 46, asked. “You know how I can tell? Davina McCall forced to apologise live on air after major slip-up during Comic Relief

Davina McCall was forced to issue an apology on behalf of her co-star while presenting Comic Relief’s live show on the BBC.  The 58-year-old TV star was joined by comedian Nick Mohammed for the charity event’s Red Nose Day, which raises funds for communities needing food, healthcare and shelter.  During his challenge, which was to complete eight Rubik’s Cubes in one minute, the 45-year-old muttered expletives as he struggled to finish the brain teaser.  While he tipped away at the cubes, his former Celebrity Traitors co-star Joe Marler, 35, dressed in drag, tried to disrupt him on stage using a water pistol. After the 60 seconds were up and Nick had failed to complete the challenge, he turned the cubes around to show them arranged into the word sorry, which he meant as an apology for his banishment of the former England rugby player on the game show hosted by Claudia Winkleman.  The pair of former castmates then walked over to join Davina, who told those watching at home: “Before we go any further, we …

The series concluded on Friday (23 January), after picking up with the results of the chests of chance following a major cliffhanger in the previous episode. Unfortunately for James, he opened an empty chest while Rachel got the one with the shield, meaning he was immediately banished from the castle.
