Oncologists explain the silent symptoms of male breast cancer after X-Men star’s diagnosis

Tyler Mane, the actor who played Sabretooth in X-Men and reprised the role in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, shocked fans last month when he revealed he has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  The actor gave an update earlier this week on his Instagram page, explaining that he was on “Round 2 day 16 of chemotherapy” and gave insight into the side effects of his treatment revealing: “This makes you appreciate your health.” In early July he wrote of his treatment, “So far so good. I’m expecting a little dip once the steroids wear off again but I’m trying to prepare for it better this round. I got two more after this round to figure it out. Ugh! Thank you so much for all the love and well wishes.” When he announced he had been diagnosed, not only did the 59-year-old explain that he had started chemotherapy, but he also used the opportunity to raise awareness that men can also develop the disease. “One in 750 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and …

The Vampire Lestat stars on why they “pushed back” on certain scenes

The Vampire Lestat stars on why they “pushed back” on certain scenes

The Vampire Lestat stars Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid have addressed times that they’ve had to “push back” on certain scenes in the fantasy drama. Formerly known as Interview with the Vampire, and inspired by the works of the late Anne Rice, the series follows the tumultuous relationship between vampires Louis de Pointe du Lac (Anderson) and Lestat de Lioncourt (Reid). As the new title suggests, the third season shifts perspective from Louis to Lestat, catching up with the centuries-old undead being as he fronts a rock band – and amasses a legion of devoted fans. In-keeping with the commonly seductive portrayal of vampires, Lestat takes many lovers throughout the series, a habit only fuelled by his newfound celebrity status. Although it asks a lot of actor Reid, he views it as an essential inclusion. “That is who the character is,” he told Radio Times in an exclusive interview. That said, the Aussie breakout star also alluded to times when he’s put his foot down regarding certain suggestions for his wild role. Want to see …

‘Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness’ Guest Stars, Cameos

Larry David has returned to HBO Max with the American history-centered sketch comedy show Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, following the conclusion of his long-running series Curb Your Enthusiasm — and it’s not just executive producers Barack and Michelle Obama who are along for the ride. Dozens of celebrity guests have joined the comedian to fill out the cast of historical figures. This is not just a few cameos here and there — each episode of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness has over a dozen celebrity guests, and the roster ranges from a few of David’s co-stars on Curb to the late Rob Reiner, in what became his final screen performance. Major Hollywood stars including Samuel L. Jackson and Lin-Manuel Miranda don the wigs and garb of decades and centuries past alongside television’s biggest names, like Jerry Seinfeld and Jon Hamm. The Hollywood Reporter is watching the series closely to make sure all these stars are accounted for — after all, they deserve some credit for spending time working with L.D. …

Astronomers Found the First Atmosphere on a Planet in Another Star’s Habitable Zone

Astronomers Found the First Atmosphere on a Planet in Another Star’s Habitable Zone

The search for life beyond Earth has borne little fruit. That remains true, but scientists have some renewed hope. For the first time, astronomers discovered an atmosphere surrounding an exoplanet within the habitable zone of its host star.  Say hello to LHS 1140b, an Earth-like rocky planet that lives approximately 48 light-years away from us. For reference, Voyager 1 is rapidly approaching its first light day after nearly 50 years in flight. LHS 1140b sits in the “Goldilocks” zone for its star, which means it’s far enough away to not get roasted like Mercury, but close enough that it gets warm enough to support liquid water.  According to a new study published in Science, the “special” part of this discovery is not just the habitable zone around a star. It’s that it seems to meet extra criteria that scientists care about — i.e., it’s rocky, not a gas giant, and can still hold onto an atmosphere despite harsh conditions. An atmosphere is what helps stabilize surface temperatures, which is essential for life to exist.  “It’s …

Anthony Ippolito Stars as Sly Stallone

Anthony Ippolito Stars as Sly Stallone

In the trailer for I Play Rocky, Anthony Ippolito plays Sylvester Stallone playing Rocky in and around, well, Rocky, the instant-classic 1976 film that put one of our greatest action stars on the map. Ippolito’s look for the film is right and the voice, described in the trailer (below) as sounding like “you’ve got rocks in your mouth,” is spot on — it does sound like Ippolito has rocks in his mouth! Stephan James is pretty pitch-perfect and photo realistic as Carl Weathers too. If Ippolito looks familiar — and not just because he looks like Stallone (or even Jeremy Allen White dressed as Stallone) — it is probably because he’s the guy who played Al Pacino in Paramount limited series The Offer. Yes, Ippolito has become Hollywood’s go-to for portraying young, Italian, breakout movie stars in ’70s films. I Play Rocky also stars Matt Dillon, AnnaSophia Robb, P.J. Byrne, Toby Kebbell, Tracy Letts, Jay Duplass and Kiki Seto, and is produced by Peter Farrelly, who also directs, as well as Christian Baha, Toby Emmerich and …

White Lotus and Tip Toe stars to return for final season of BBC comedy

Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey’s hit sitcom Daddy Issues has officially been renewed for a third season – but it will mark the show’s last. The BBC comedy, which focuses on Stockport-based Gemma (Wood) as she comes to terms with life as a mum, and also navigates a relationship with her hapless dad, Malcolm (Morrissey), will be back for a third and final series on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three. A release date is yet to be announced. Season 3 is set to pick up 18 months from where we left off at the end of season 2, with baby Sadie now in nursery and Gemma promoted at the salon. Malcolm, meanwhile, has just ordered a fancy new washing machine to optimise the laundry. With things on an even keel for the duo, Gemma decides to dip her toes into dating, but a romantic encounter soon creates a whole heap of problems and there’s only one person Gemma can turn to – her dad. Wood said of the renewal in a statement: “I’m so …

The Australian journalist Laura Tingle, who was in a relationship with Neill from 2018 to 2021, spoke about the 78-year-old actor’s final days before his “sudden and unexpected” death on Monday (13 July). Neill was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer in 2022, and while the actor was cancer-free at the time of his death, Tingle told radio show Sydney Mornings that the cancer had “taken a toll” on his body and left his immune system “pretty compromised”. “He’d been fighting various forms of cancer for at least the last five years intensively. And that takes a toll on anybody’s body,” Tingle told radio host Hamish Macdonald. “He’d had a lot of chemo and …
