LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams’ entire roster will travel to Australia for their regular-season opener next week, but coach Sean McVay still isn’t sure whether unretired defensive tackle Aaron Donald will play. McVay announced his plans Friday for the Rams while they began preparations for their trip to Melbourne, where they will meet the rival San Francisco 49ers. The Rams were initially equivocal on whether Donald would make the long trip for the NFL’s first international game in Australia. The 35-year-old superstar only ended his retirement last weekend, rejoining the Rams after 2 1/2 years away. The rules proposed by the U.S. Treasury Department ‌and Internal Revenue Service are the ‌latest salvo in the administration’s campaign to eradicate diversity programs and end what officials say is discrimination against ⁠white students ⁠in favor of students of color. Civil rights advocates say diversity practices help address ​historic inequities for marginalized ethnic minorities who were legally discriminated against for decades. The Trump administration is proposing a new rule that would strip private colleges and private grade schools of their tax-exempt status if they provide targeted help to students based on their race, a significant escalation in the White House’s campaign to eradicate diversity programs directed at Black, Latino and other minority students. Measles infections in the first seven months of this year surpassed all of 2025, when the U.S. reported the most annual cases in over three decades. U.S. News is tracking the outbreak, which includes 2,371 confirmed cases and 37 new outbreaks. That’s compared to a total of 2,289 infections and 45 outbreaks for the full year of 2025. “Reaching this milestone is particularly striking because we are only in July, and measles cases are still being reported throughout the country, with outbreaks in Virginia and Pennsylvania,” William Moss of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health said in a statement. McALLEN, Texas (AP) — A Texas mother deported to Mexico despite having legal permission to stay in the U.S. after arriving as a child has filed a lawsuit against the federal government after it notified her it would be terminating her permission because of “unauthorized travel” stemming from her deportation. Jessica Treviño, 34, filed a lawsuit through her attorney this week asking a federal judge to intervene. Treviño and her husband were arrested in December after federal agents followed them and two of their daughters into a Home Depot parking lot in South Texas. Both were deported and are living in Matamoros, Mexico, just south of Brownsville, Texas. Their three children, all U.S. citizens, are living with family on the U.S. side near the border. After being brought to the country as a child at the age of 7, Treviño subsequently received legal permission at 20 to remain in the U.S. under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA.
