Toy Story star Tim Allen, 72, makes rare public appearance to honor close friend

Tim Allen made a rare public appearance on Friday April 10, 2026, to honor Bonnie Clevering who has worked with the likes Hilary Swank, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and Kristen Stewart over her five decades as a hair designer. © Variety via Getty Images HELLO! joined the Santa Clause actor at the Hollywood Beauty Awards, where Tim kept his look classic for the show, wearing a black tuxedo as he introduced Bonnie to the stage. Bonnie was named as the 2026 Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling honoree at the Hollywood Beauty Awards, and after a highlight reel of her work, Tim quipped: “Vogue magazine, red carpets… Not one mention of Santa Claus’s beard. Gotta be honest, it took me forever to grow that beard! It didn’t happen in moments.” © Photo: Rex Tim grew his own natural beard for his role as Scott Calvin in the Christmas film The Santa Clause, but when Bonnie joined the franchise for the sequel, they worked together to create various looks as the character aged. Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat review – the episode with the sex toy is stomach turning | Television

Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat review – the episode with the sex toy is stomach turning | Television

In 2023, Freevee (owned by Amazon) aired Jury Duty, a hoax reality show starring an unsuspecting member of the American public who was unaware that everyone else deciding the outcome of a trial in an LA courthouse alongside him was in fact an actor. It was frequently ridiculous – not least when X-Men actor James Marsden was parachuted in as a member of the jury. It did, however, have a lot of heart, and a lovable mark in the form of Ronald Gladden, a sweet man who blindly followed the “hero’s journey” he was unaware was being meticulously plotted by producers, and who took the eventual reveal very well. Some questioned the ethics of this Truman Show-esque premise, although Gladden seemed fairly undamaged by his accidental fame. Certainly, you imagine that his prize – $100,000 and a two-year deal with Amazon – would have helped to soften any initial feelings of “WTF”. And so to season two, which retains the Jury Duty brand name but takes place at an annual retreat for Rockin’ Grandma’s hot …

Hoppers review – Skip Toy Story 5 and watch this warm and fuzzy Pixar film instead

Get the latest entertainment news, reviews and star-studded interviews with our Independent Culture email Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter Pixar, when they’re not pumping out sequels, have provided an essential public service with their more existential fare. How do we grieve (2017’s Coco)? How do we make peace with our pain (2015’s Inside Out)? What does it mean to be alive (2020’s Soul)? It’s child psychotherapy for the price of a cinema ticket. Hoppers breaches what, at this point, feels too prescient to ignore: the question of how not to be consumed by despair, even in our formative years. What’s a kid meant to do with all that rage against the machine inside their head? All this gloom is, of course, communicated via the fluffiest of stratagems: the North American beaver. Or, to be more specific, it’s about a robotic beaver with the transferred consciousness of 19-year-old environmentalist, Mabel (Piper Curda), as she builds a resistance movement out of the …

Toy Story 5 trailer goes viral over change in Woody’s appearance

Toy Story 5 trailer goes viral over change in Woody’s appearance

The full-length trailer for Toy Story 5 has been released, and beyond the nostalgia, thrills and villainous iPad, there’s one key thing fans have been picking up on – Woody’s bald patch. That’s right, Tom Hanks’s beloved character is back, reuniting with the rest of the toys after separating from them at the end of Toy Story 4. However, he has changed a bit since we last saw him, developing a distinct ‘bald patch’ on the back of his head, which the light shines off of, blinding the other toys. Trixie notes that “someone needs a brown marker”, something plenty of fans have been saying online too. Meanwhile, villainous new character Lilypad, a tablet threatening to replace the toys in Bonnie’s heart, asks whether Woody is “some sort of old man toy”, with Forky clarifying that “she thinks you’re old because you’re bald, Woody”. Toy Story 5: see first trailer – and Woody looks so different

The newest trailer for Toy Story 5 has been released, revealing a slew of familiar voices returning to the beloved franchise, along with some new additions, as Woody and the gang take on the world of technology. The trailer for the upcoming Pixar film, set for a June 19 release, debuted on Thursday with the promise of a reunion between Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), and Jessie (Joan Cusack). This comes after Woody chose to leave his owner, Bonnie, hand over his sheriff badge to Jessie and travel the countryside helping lost toys find loving homes in Toy Story 4.  “The toys are back and this time, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad, a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie,” reads the film’s synopsis. “Will playtime ever be the same?” © Pixar/YouTubeBonnie’s new tablet Lilypad sends the toys into a spin The now-eight-year-old Bonnie becomes enamored with her …

“Toy Story 5” trailer: Threat of “iPad kids” worries old-school toys

“Toy Story 5” trailer: Threat of “iPad kids” worries old-school toys

A newer, flashier toy posing a threat to the established order has been a running theme of the “Toy Story” franchise from the very beginning. But the peril has never been greater for the former residents of Andy’s room than in “Toy Story 5,” where a slick newcomer threatens the very concept of playing with toys. The newly released trailer for the Pixar sequel finds Woody, Buzz and Jessie staring at the terrifying soft edges and glass surface of a child’s tablet. Its flashing lights and internet connectivity foretell a future in which kids won’t rummage around in the toy box at all, opting instead for more and more screen time. As a teaser trailer released late last year noted, with a bit of cribbing from Peter Jackson, “the age of toys is over.” In the upcoming installment, due out this June, the toys’ owner Bonnie is gifted a children’s tablet and is quickly sucked in by its seemingly endless options for proscribed play. The trailer shows her laying on the floor and in bed …

Woody and Buzz Join Forces to Take On a Tablet in New ‘Toy Story 5’ Trailer

Woody and Buzz Join Forces to Take On a Tablet in New ‘Toy Story 5’ Trailer

A new trailer for Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 sets the stage for a toy-versus-tech face-off. The movie wouldn’t be complete without cowboy protagonist Woody, who reunites with his pals following the events of Toy Story 4 (his bald spot and poncho may be new, but he seamlessly fits back in with his toy buddies). In the more than 2-minute trailer, Jessie tells Woody she’s losing 8-year-old Bonnie to Lilypad, a frog-faced tablet that’s clashing with the classic toys about what’s best for Bonnie.  “Tech’s invaded our house,” Jessie says.  “I don’t know, Jessie — toys are for play, but tech is for everything,” Woody tells her. The trailer shows Bonnie struggling with screen time limits, glued to her tablet. When Bonnie is out of sight, Lilypad the learning tablet taunts the toys as she appears to cause their eviction from Bonnie’s room and into a dreaded donation box. Toy Story 5’s voice cast includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Greta Lee as Lilypad, Tony Hale …
