In the summer of 2022, Hall filed for divorce in a California court, citing “irreconcilable differences”. “Not all exes you want to be friends with, do you?” she told British Vogue. “Some people aren’t friendly. But I think when you have children with someone, it’s important to be friendly.” She added that she and Murdoch “were married six and a half years and no children”, and noted that she hasn’t seen him “in a couple …

11 Signs Someone Has Traumatic Intelligence, The Rarest Form Of Being Smart

While some research suggests that trauma is stored in the body, wound up deep inside of us waiting to be unraveled and discovered, a new study from Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience pushes back against that assumption, naming prediction systems and cognitive processes as the most common victims of PTSD and unresolved trauma. If someone has traumatic intelligence, the rarest form of being smart, their minds have been changed by their trauma. In many ways, they’ve become more pessimistic or negative, but they’ve also become particular and hypervigilant in ways that may give them a protective edge. Here are 11 signs someone has traumatic intelligence, the rarest form of being smart 1. They absorb other people’s energy Dragon Images | Shutterstock Many people with trauma develop a sense of social awareness by default or out of survival. Especially with toxic parents at home, figuring out someone’s mood and how to deal with them to keep the peace was a necessity for their well-being. As adults, they have a similar skill in sensing people’s energy in a room or …

The Wisdom of Children: Secure Attachment in Traumatic Times

The Wisdom of Children: Secure Attachment in Traumatic Times

By Evelyn Rappaport, Psy.D.P.C. Five-year-old Adam speaks about the war with striking clarity. He distinguishes between different types of missiles and describes the current escalation of the Iran War as “less scary” than the 12-day Iranian war in June of 2025. His tone is calm, almost observational. Yet beneath his words lies a nervous system already learning to track threat, compare intensity, and make meaning of danger. Twelve-year-old Ami moves quickly when the siren sounds. As he gathers his siblings and heads to the shelter, he pauses to collect two items that do not belong to him: his younger sister’s blanket and her stuffed animal. She is not home, yet he brings them anyway. “These are her love objects,” he explains, items she always carries into the shelter. In her absence, he becomes the guardian of her comfort, embodying care even when she is not present. These small, quiet moments reveal something profound. Even amid uncertainty and danger, children are not only adapting, they are also organizing, protecting, and caring for one another. What we …

‘It has been traumatic’: the Cornwall landmark left battered by Storm Goretti | Cornwall

Three months after Storm Goretti battered St Michael’s Mount in Cornwall, the signs of the storm’s power are still evident in the scars left by uprooted trees, piles of logs and the shaking of heads from islanders who have lived there for decades and never seen the like. “It really was something,” said Jack Beesley, a senior gardener. “We were shocked the morning after when we saw what had happened. We had been caring for these trees for years and to see so many of them down was very sad. We’ve worked hard to get the place ready for the Easter visitors but it will still be a month or more until we’re back straight.” Once they are sorted, the gardening team will pause to work out what to do next after losing 80% of the Cornish tidal island’s tree cover to the 100mph winds. Replanting trees such as Monterey pines, which had grown to the height of a four-storey building, may not be wise given the threat of more frequent storms because of the …

‘The cover-up is brazen’: one journalist’s tenacious, traumatic fight to expose Ghislaine Maxwell | Ghislaine Maxwell

On 9 September 2022, Lucia Osborne-Crowley flew from London to Miami and caught a Greyhound bus north to West Palm Beach. The writer and journalist had arranged to meet Carolyn Andriano, who was abused by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell from the age of 14 until she was 17, starting in 2001. Andriano had been a crucial witness in the trial against Maxwell in 2021. When the two women met, Andriano said she had just been visited by a private investigator – a man in his 60s, who had heard she was talking to someone about a book. In a restaurant that afternoon, Osborne-Crowley was approached by a man in his 60s. What was she writing, he wanted to know. He offered her drugs, cash and a meeting with one of Epstein’s pilots, then put his hands under her skirt. When the manager asked him to leave, he waited in the car park; Osborne-Crowley had to escape through a staff exit. She had been following the Epstein case for six years by then and had …

Altering gut bacteria with antibiotics reduces inflammation from traumatic brain injuries

Altering gut bacteria with antibiotics reduces inflammation from traumatic brain injuries

A recent study found that a brief course of antibiotics after a head injury can reduce inflammation and tissue damage in the brain. By temporarily altering the community of bacteria living in the digestive tract, the medication appears to help protect the brain during its critical recovery window. These findings were published in the journal Communications Biology. A traumatic brain injury initiates a cascade of immune responses that affect the entire body. The physical impact damages brain cells, which triggers a localized inflammatory reaction. At the same time, the injury disrupts the delicate ecosystem of microbes living in the digestive system. This community of bacteria, fungi, and viruses is known as the gut microbiome. The digestive tract and the central nervous system share a continuous line of communication. This connection allows changes in stomach bacteria to influence neurological health and vice versa. When a physical trauma scrambles this signaling pathway, it can lead to an overactive immune response. This excessive inflammation often worsens the initial brain damage. Over time, repeated injuries can cause progressive deterioration …

Mark Consuelos looks like a different person as he makes ‘traumatic’ revelation about appearance

Mark Consuelos may flash a TV-perfect pearly-white smile, but appearances can be deceiving – especially when it comes to his canines. During the February 4 episode of LIVE with Kelly & Mark, the host revealed that he’s had a missing tooth for almost five decades. The star lost his gnasher after he smashed his face into an obstacle course in the fourth grade – an incident he described as “very traumatic”. “There was a certain time that I had to have an implant – because it was just done – I had enough trauma,” he shared, adding that he had to put a cap on it for several years. Mark’s missing tooth has caused its fair share of problems throughout the years as the host recounted a particularly embarrassing instance where he boarded a plane from New York City to Vancouver to film an episode of the drama series Riverdale. “I had the flipper,” he said, in reference to the sheath used in the mouth that impacted his speech. © ABCMark has a missing tooth …
