This life-altering discovery, made after a dramatic collapse during a leisurely bike ride, has prompted her to undertake the endurance cycle for the British Heart Foundation. Diana Warren, 55, was enjoying a bike ride with her wife, Lisa, in June 2022 when she suddenly collapsed. The couple had paused their 14-mile journey to Mersey Island at a local cafe, where Ms Warren, then 51, had chosen a coffee and a cream tea “for carbohydrates” to sustain them for the remainder of their trip. “I’d put the cream on the scone ready to go for it, and I don’t remember much after that,” Ms Warren, who lives in Colchester, told PA Real Life. “Apparently, …

But it might end up being decided by a lower court judge in Utah or a state senator in Maryland. Trump got Republican state lawmakers in Texas to redistrict there. California Democrats responded by leading a redistricting that could help their party. Other states followed. In an election Tuesday, Virginia voters have a chance to approve or reject redistricting there. It’s unclear which party will end up gaining more seats in the U.S. House. China turns Iran war to its advantage with plan to profit from US disaster

China turns Iran war to its advantage with plan to profit from US disaster

Xi Jinping strode into the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and settled into his chair, flanked by his top advisers at a large mahogany table decorated with purple orchids. Stately in a navy suit, China’s leader delivered brief opening remarks – just under a minute – to welcome Pedro Sánchez, the Spanish prime minister, sitting opposite. “The world today is in turmoil and disorder. How a country approaches international law and the international order reflects its worldview, values and its approach to order and responsibility,” said Mr Xi, assuming the role of a respected world leader. “China and Spain are both principled countries that value justice, and are willing to stand on the right side of history,” he continued, in a thinly veiled jab at Donald Trump’s assault on Iran, which has engulfed the Middle East in war for the past 50 days. “We must oppose a return of the world to the ‘law of the jungle’, jointly safeguard genuine multilateralism and uphold global peace and development.” Official readouts also noted how Mr …

Gigs turns your concert history into a personal live music archive

Gigs turns your concert history into a personal live music archive

People always hold up their phones to record special moments at concerts, but they often never revisit those videos. Gigs, a new concert-tracking app launching this week, wants to change that. The iOS app helps live music fans turn their years of concerts, tickets, and photo and video memories into a personal archive with the help of Apple’s on-device AI. To add a concert to Gigs, users can import a ticket, email, screenshot, or even a website link, and the app will use Apple’s Foundation Models to extract the dates, venues, lineups, and other information to fill out the listing. For those who already track their concert history elsewhere, like Setlist.fm or Concert Archives, there’s the option to automatically import years of concert and festival attendance by linking their accounts. Image Credits:Gigs Once the concerts have been added to the app, users can sync those dates to their personal calendar, get ticket sale reminders, browse expected set lists, and view other info about the show or artist. When the concert ends, the app reminds the …

Anthropic just launched Claude Design, an AI tool that turns prompts into prototypes and challenges Figma

Anthropic today launched Claude Design, a new product from its Anthropic Labs division that allows users to create polished visual work — designs, interactive prototypes, slide decks, one-pagers, and marketing collateral — through conversational prompts and fine-grained editing controls. The release, available immediately in research preview to all paid Claude subscribers, is the company’s most aggressive expansion beyond its core language model business and into the application layer that has historically belonged to companies like Figma, Adobe, and Canva. Claude Design is powered by Claude Opus 4.7, Anthropic’s most capable generally available vision model, which the company also released today. Anthropic says it is rolling access out gradually throughout the day to Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers. The simultaneous launches mark a watershed for Anthropic, whose ambitions now visibly extend from foundation model provider to full-stack product company — one that wants to own the arc from a rough idea to a shipped product. The timing is also significant: Anthropic hit roughly $20 billion in annualized revenue in early March 2026, according to …

Congress Turns Up Pressure on DHS Over Palantir’s Role in Immigration Crackdown

Congress Turns Up Pressure on DHS Over Palantir’s Role in Immigration Crackdown

Thirty-four members of Congress are demanding that the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement provide detailed information about how tools developed by Palantir and “a range of surveillance companies” are fueling Trump’s ongoing immigration crackdown, according to a letter shared exclusively with WIRED. On Thursday, the lawmakers sent the letter to DHS secretary Markwayne Mullin and acting ICE secretary Todd Lyons. It outlines significant concerns they have about how DHS uses software developed by Palantir, as well as facial recognition from Clearview AI, social media surveillance tools from PenLink, cell tower simulators from L3Harris, and and cellphone surveillance tech built by Paragon Solutions. The lawmakers claimed that the suite of tools could be used to “compile, aggregate, and analyze large volumes of personal data and information,” and they questioned “what safeguards exist, if any, to prevent the misuse and collection of sensitive personal information.” “These tools contribute to a mass surveillance ecosystem that appears to operate in conjunction with Palantir-developed platforms and ultimately support enforcement operations conducted by DHS, some of which …

This stroller turns into a carry on-suitcase, and I recommend it for traveling parents

Alison DeNisco Rayome/ZDNET Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. As a parent and a tech commerce editor, I love trying out new gear with smart features, or that’s engineered in an interesting way to make your life easier amid the chaos and sleep deprivation. Enter the TernX: A stroller that folds up into a carry-on-size suitcase, for easier travel around airports with a little one and stows right on the plane.  When the opportunity to try out the TernX crossed my inbox ahead of a family trip, I was eager to take it for a spin on our flight from New York City to Indianapolis with a 1- and 4-year-old. And overall, this was an impressive piece of parenting gear that I’ll continue to use in the future — though with its high price tag of $699, it’s more of a luxury than a necessity. Also: 12 travel gadgets that can upgrade your spring break (and they’re on sale) The TernX — which won a 2026 Red Dot Design Award and was previously named …
