Zack Polanski has a bizarre ‘personal appeal’ – one surprising number proves it | Politics | News

Zack Polanski has led the Green to polling success (Image: Getty) Whatever happened to Jeremy Corbyn’s supporters? There was a time when they turned out in droves to hear the Lefty ex-Labour leader speak, chanting his name and dreaming of a better tomorrow. It nearly made him prime minister. Close to 13million people voted Labour in 2017, when Mr Corbyn was in charge, while just 9.7million backed Labour in the 2024 General Election that put Sir Keir into No 10. So it’s a little surprising that Mr Corbyn’s new party, the bizarrely named Your Party, has made little impact. Instead, Left-wingers, including many former Corbynites, are backing the Green Party, led by the charismatic Zack Polanski. Examples include Jennie Formby, the former general secretary of the Labour Party in the Corbyn era, who recently announced she was defecting to the Greens. Another high-profile convert is feisty journalist Owen Jones, once Mr Corbyn’s staunchest defender in the media and now a Polanski fan. They’re just the tip of the iceberg. The Green Party won 6.7% of …

EastEnders’ Vicki and Zack caught out amid affair story by mystery local

EastEnders’ Vicki and Zack caught out amid affair story by mystery local

It was only a matter of time before someone else caught Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) in the act. The EastEnders love triangle story is in full swing, and despite Kathy Beale’s (Gillian Taylforth) earlier reservations and warning against it, the two just can’t resist one another. This is despite the fact Vicki is engaged to Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw), and their wedding prep is seemingly full steam ahead with the organisation of hen and stag parties. Denise, Kim and Chelsea Fox (Diane Parish, Tameka Empson and Zaraah Abrahams) turned up on Vicki’s doorstep in today’s episode, dressed up in ’60s style wigs and costumes. They told her to turn up at Harry’s Barn that evening, though she couldn’t help but feel that it wasn’t an appropriate time to celebrate. She’d learnt that Ross’s son Joel (Max Murray) – who almost killed her last year – had only received six months in a young offenders institute and therefore would be returning to Walford sooner than expected. Although she told Ross that …

Zack Polanski in furious row with journalist who says ‘your family are disgusted!’ | Politics | News

Polanski hit out at media coverage of him (Image: Getty) Green Party leader Zack Polanski’s family are “disgusted” with him due to “the Jew hate” in his party, it has been claimed. Journalist Nicole Lampert made the claims on X after Mr Polanski attacked her for a piece she wrote for The Daily Mail, which saw her speak to estranged family members of the former Liberal Democrat. The piece purports to have spoken to three family members of Mr Polanski who suggested he had placed his political ambition above his loyalty to his community and roots. It comes as the party is set to declare Zionism as racism at its spring conference on Saturday. Under the motion, which will be voted on by members, the Greens would become an explicitly anti-Zionist party, reject key definitions of anti-Semitism that equate anti-Zionism with Jew-hatred, impose sanctions on Israel and endorse “resistance and liberation from Israeli occupation” – language critics say effectively backs Hamas attacks. The House | Zack Polanski: “There’s A Lot Of Inauthenticity In Politics, But It’s Not Coming From Me”

Zack Polanski (Photography by Louise Haywood-Schiefer) 12 min read43 min Green Party leader Zack Polanski talks to Sienna Rodgers about his by-election success, potential Labour defectors, and how his upbringing shapes his views on Zionism Zack Polanski is still revelling in a historic by-election victory in Gorton and Denton, where plumber Hannah Spencer won over 40 per cent of the vote, when he visits The House offices. The Greens’ unquestionable triumph in Manchester and corresponding jump in the national polls have been quickly overshadowed, however, by events abroad as Israel and the US launched attacks on Iran. Polanski’s deputy, Mothin Ali, reacted to the strikes by joining a protest that critics characterised as supportive of the Iranian regime but the Greens describe simply as anti-war. “I can’t guarantee that I’ve never been on a march where someone hasn’t said something I disagree with,” the leader says, confirming that he would attend these protests himself, even though attendees were flying pro-regime flags and mourning Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “It’s cynical when people seek …

Mahmood Slams Zack Polanskis Immigration Policies

Mahmood Slams Zack Polanskis Immigration Policies

Shabana Mahmood will accuse Zack Polanksi of pursuing a “fairytale of open borders” as she unveils her controversial crackdown on immigration. The home secretary will say the Green Party leader wants to introduce “the most expensive and expansive migration policies anywhere in the world” if he becomes prime minister. Mahmood will also take on left-wing Labour MPs who wanted her to water down her plans to make it harder for immigrants to stay in the UK in the wake of the party’s humiliation in last week’s Gorton and Denton by-election. Labour, which had held the seat with a majority of nearly 13,500 majority, came in third place as the Greens’ Hannah Spencer pulled off a historic victory. Mahmood will insist that “restoring order and control at our border is not a betrayal of Labour values, it is an embodiment of them” and say it is the only way to halt the rise of the far-right. Asylum seekers who break the law or work illegally will be thrown out of taxpayer-funded accommodation and lose their benefits, …

Politics Home | Trump Is No Ally Of Britain – He Is A Threat Like Putin, Says Zack Polanski

President Putin and President Trump meet for talks on Ukraine, August 2025 (Alamy Live News) 4 min read2 hr Zack Polanski has declared that Donald Trump cannot be an ally of Britain, and the UK can no longer have a “special relationship” with the US, because its President is a “real threat” in the same mould as Vladimir Putin. Speaking in the wake of strikes by the US and Israel on Iran that have killed Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei among others, the Green Party leader described Russia as “looking to advance its imperialism”, before adding: “I believe the same behaviour is coming from the United States.” In an exclusive interview with The House magazine, Polanski said the UK must realise “what a threat Donald Trump is, how unpredictable he is, and ultimately the only thing he cares about is Donald Trump – and that’s not someone that can be our ally, or we can be in a special relationship with”. He argued that Britain should be working with European countries such …

Zack Snyder hits back at criticisms of ‘toxic’ fanbase and defends Batman v Superman

The filmmaker, 59, directed three films for DC’s extended universe – Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). After the original release of Justice League saw him cede creative control of the project, a hard-fought fan campaign to “release the Snyder cut” ultimately resulted in the development of Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021), a vastly different version of the film in line with his own vision. During an appearance on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Snyder addressed fans’ calls for him to continue the “Snyderverse” – despite his collaborations with DC having seemingly come to an end. “I would never say there is no way,” Snyder said. “I was on the ride …

‘Am I at peak popularity? I hope not’: on the road with Zack Polanski, from protest to podcast to Heaven nightclub | Zack Polanski

WAKEFIELD 17 JANUARY 2026 “I’m dying for a wee,” Zack Polanski says as he gets off the train at Wakefield Westgate. Why didn’t you go on the train, I ask? “It was very busy and too many people recognised me on the way to the toilet. I knew I’d never get there for all the conversations, so I came back.” When did it become hard for him to go to the toilet on a train? “2 September,” he says. “The day I was elected.” At first, I wonder if Polanski is bigging himself up, but over the next couple of weeks I see for myself he is not exaggerating. While Polanski says it’s not, and cannot be, about one individual, in Green circles there is much talk of the Polanski effect. Since he was elected in September 2025, the Greens have risen by an average of four points in the polls. Just before going to press, the Guardian’s latest poll tracker had the party at 13.5%, only five points behind Labour, on 18.6%; 20% of …
