Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan new flim for Netflix | Royal | News

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly making a new war film for Netflix, it has been claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, alongside Tracy Ryerson, will produce a film based on the book No Way Out: The Searing True Story of Men Under Siege through their media company, Archewell Productions.

According to Deadline, the book is being developed as a feature film, written by Bridge of Spies’ Matt Charman, as part of Netflix’s deal with the Sussexes. The book tells the story of Easy Company, a unit of Paras and the Royal Irish Rangers, tasked with holding a district in Helmand province in July 2006 during the war in Afghanistan.

The story by Major Adam Jowett, who led the unit, will be the latest feature film for Harry and Meghan, who saw their contract with the streaming giant downgraded last year to a first-look deal.

The latest project for the Sussex couple will undoubtedly hold a close place in Harry’s heart as he has served in the Army for 10 years.

Harry was deployed twice to Afghanistan, including a 10-week tour in Helmand province.

He ended his Army career in 2015.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have other Netflix projects in the works.

They are producing adaptations of The Wedding Date by Tracey Oliver and Meet Me At The Lake by Carley Fortune.

According to the outlet, they are also executive-producing a “polo-themed” drama series for the streaming giant, which will be set in the “high-flying equestrian town” of Wellington, Florida.

It will be written by Teacup’s Francisca X.
