Dad and son attacked by large group of teens in balaclavas


A father and son were assaulted by a large group of teenagers next to a Cardiff supermarket. South Wales Police said the attack happened at around 7pm on Wednesday (May 6) behind a Tesco, in the Cath Cobb Fields area of St Mellons.

A force spokersperson said that witnesses described some members of the group as wearing balaclavas and riding e-bikes. The 60-year-old man and his 28-year-old son attended Cardiff’s University Hospital of Wales for treatment. Neither was serious injured.

“Violence and this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated,” said the police spokersperson. “There will be extra police patrols in the area while enquiries are ongoing.
