Heidi Klum channelled Marilyn Monroe during her recent appearance as she embraced a billowing dress. The 52-year-old attended Calzedonia’s Summer Beachclub event at km 689 Cologne Beach Club on May 26.
The supermodel stunned in a brown maxi dress that featured a softly ruched design that gathered down the bodice. The garment boasted a plunging neckline that was embellished with a gold hardware accent. Heidi layered a leopard-print Calzedonia bikini top beneath the halter-neck dress for a daring twist and finished the ensemble with a pair of nude pointed-toe heels. She added a stack of gold bracelets and chunky statement rings to her look.
Heidi’s luscious locks were styled into her signature bombshell curls while her makeup oozed soft glam, courtesy of a smoky eye and glossy lip. In one photograph, Heidi held up her dress and swished it around her silhouette for a billowing effect.
The playful pose was reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe’s white fit-and-flare gown from the 1955 classic, The Seven Year Itch. The dress was crafted by costume designer William Travilla and featured a billowing silhouette with a ruched bodice and halter neckline.
Celebrity fashion stylist Ellis Ranson spoke to us about Heidi’s recent outfit. “Known for her bold outfit choices, this feels more understated and luxe in the chocolate brown,” she shared. “The ruched fabric is such a flattering style and gives a simple maxi dress some interest. One of my favourite designs for the summer.”
“Being a Heidi look, there is always something more fun attached to the look. The leopard print bikini underneath. I love when you take a color from the print you are wearing and match it to the outfit,” she added.
Ellis continued: “Heidi has always dressed with confidence and how she feels in an outfit rather than trend-led, but this is the perfect combination of both. It’s glamorous without feeling too try hard, and I love how she’s kept the accessories minimal and made it feel bohemian yet quiet luxury all at the same time.”
Heidi has long been associated with the Italian lingerie and swimwear brand. She has also fronted campaigns for the likes of Victoria’s Secret and Intimissimi. “I’ve been photographing nude or in lingerie since 1992, way before Instagram,” she previously told People.
“People always say, ‘You probably got more confident as you’ve gotten older,’ but I have always been confident,” she added. “I have no problem walking around in my underwear. I’m not hiding in a corner.”
