One thing you may not know about the Princess of Wales is that she has an enormous collection of designer high heels. From Manolo Blahnik to Emmy London, one may say she is the Carrie Bradshaw of her time. Kate also wears them like a pro; always looking comfortable and poised, no matter how high the heel is.
Her go-to shoe brand appears to be Jimmy Choo, and she often dons the ‘Romy’, a classically-shaped heeled pump. She memorably wore them to her youngest son Prince Louis’s christening in 2018, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding the same year.
The royal memorably turned to the brand in 2017, donning her most daring pair of heels we’ve ever seen her in. Then known as The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate quite literally stepped out in style for a solo engagement at the National Portrait Gallery to celebrate the Portrait Gala that year. Kate, who was attending in her role as patron of the iconic London museum, looked stunning in a dark green, floor-length Temperley dress with delicate lace detailing.
Although her frock was an emerald masterpiece and admittedly concealed her feet, in these throwback shots that were taken as she took to the stairs, you can see a great shot of her high heels, which were of the stiletto variety. Sky high and featuring sassy metallic straps, they were a seriously directional design.
Towering in length, the heel reached almost five inches. Although this style has since been discontinued, they were priced at £700 at the time of purchase. The open-toe silhouette was particularly modern, and together with the cross straps and shining buckled ankle straps, they were pure party vibes.
Kate teamed a glittering gold clutch by Wilbur & Gussie and accessorised with glittering Kiki McDonough earrings that featured pink tourmaline, green amethyst, and pavé diamonds in 18ct yellow gold.
Kate has bags of style…
Aside from shoes, global luxury accessories brand Jimmy Choo is also famous for ultra-glamorous clutch bags, too, of which Kate is definitely a fan.
We’ve spotted the brunette royal carrying various versions of the Jimmy Choo ‘Celeste’ clutch, which has a classic rectangular shape and features a chain shoulder strap plus the brand’s signature luxe cube clasp.
