Police have issued an urgent appeal in a frantic bid to find two young teenagers who have gone missing. Lincolnshire Police is urging members of the public who have any information about the girls’ whereabouts to step forward, as the force wishes to “locate them as quickly as possible”.

The force released pictures of the teenagers, named Ava and Lexi, just after 6.30am on February 6, alongside a statement. It read: “Have you seen missing Ava and Lexi? The young teenagers were both reported missing on Thursday, 5 February, and were seen buying tickets at Spalding Train Station at around 11.10am.

“We believe they initially travelled to the Peterborough area, and are now heading towards Cornwall.”

Their behaviour, police added, “is said to be out of character”. The appeal continue: “We are asking anyone who saw them, who knows where they are or has any information about them to get in touch.”

Less than nine hours later, the force issued an update, saying the force were continuing to appeal for help to find the missing teens.

The new statement published at 3.05pm read: “Ongoing investigations lead us to believe that the girls may be in Cornwall.”

Providing a description of the girls which may help members of the public locate them, the force said: “Ava may have on glasses, a black Zanetti jacket, grey tight bottoms, red, black and white trainers and carrying a grey backpack.

“Lexi may be wearing a black jacket with KWD on the breast pocket, tight black bottoms, white trainers, and may be carrying a Marvel backpack with Captain America on it.”
