Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a newborn baby died in South Yorkshire.
Police were called to a home in the Wincobank area of Sheffield just before 6am on Sunday following concerns for the safety of a young child.
Officers found the baby girl during a search of a property in the area. She was pronounced dead at the address, South Yorkshire Police said.
Det Ch Insp Emma Knight said: “We are aware news of this will be deeply concerning, and I want to reassure our local communities that we have a dedicated team of detectives and officers hard at work to ensure justice is secured for the baby girl at the heart of this investigation.
