If Schmigadoon!, the Broadway adaptation of the Emmy-winning TV series of the same name, wins any of the field-leading 12 Tonys for which it is nominated at Sunday night’s Tony Awards ceremony — and it is the favorite to win several, including the most coveted of all Tonys, best musical — it would represent an historic achievement for Apple TV. Indeed, the company, which produced the TV show and co-produced the Broadway production, will have completed an EGOT — wins of at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award — and in a shorter timespan than any other streaming service. Apple TV launched in Nov. 2019, just six-and-a-half years ago. New models of the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini are “nearly ready to go,” according to the latest word from Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman. Both devices have been ready “for months,” but Apple is holding off on launching them until the more personalized version of Siri is available, he said. “I am told the hardware for the next Apple TV set-top box and HomePod mini has been done for months and that both devices are already in active use among employees at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California,” wrote Gurman. If you have been closely following Apple TV and HomePod mini rumors, this is a familiar narrative. The revamped Siri is finally expected to launch as part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, which will be unveiled during the WWDC 2026 keynote on Monday, June 8. The trailer for season two of Apple TV‘s Sugar features Colin Farrell‘s private eye getting embroiled in a new case, wearing sharp suits and cruising around Los Angeles in a cool 1960s-era Corvette. It does not, however, mention a huge plot twist that occurred late in the show’s first season, and only really alludes to it one time. Spoilers — for the season that streamed two years ago — to come after the basics of season two. Sugar is set to premiere June 19 and will again follow P.I. and cinephile John Sugar (Farrell) as he “takes on a new missing persons case, searching for the older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer,” the logline reads. “As the investigation expands into a sinister, city-wide conspiracy, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question — how far will he go to do what’s right?” The season two cast also features Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle and Shea Whigham.
