Almost two years after the second season of Taylor Sheridan’s action series Lioness debuted, the release date has finally been confirmed for the show’s third run.
Lioness season 3, which will once again star Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Kelly, will debut on Paramount+ on Sunday 2 August – meaning there are just two months left to wait.
The synopsis for season 3 says that it sees “hidden networks, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals collide”.
The synopsis continues: “Joe (Saldaña) walks the line between duty and home as unseen forces circle her world. Patterns appear where they shouldn’t, names vanish, and paths rearrange.
“Guided by Kaitlyn (Kidman) and Westfield (Kelly), Joe confronts enemies operating in the shadows, leaving her to reckon with a war that now reaches into every part of her life.”
The news of the season 3 release date came alongside the unveiling of first-look images, showing us a number of the key cast members.
In addition to Saldaña, Kidman, Freeman and Kelly, other stars set to feature in season 3 include Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Genesis Rodriguez, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, Hannah Love Lanier and Ian Bohen.
Bohen joins the cast for season 3 having been known for playing Ryan in all five seasons of Sheridan’s series Yellowstone.
Bohen will reportedly be playing a character called Grady, who is described as a “by-the-book Delta Force operator and primary K9 handler, skilled in battlefield tactics”.
Of course, Lioness isn’t Sheridan’s only ongoing series – far from it.
Other series he is working on include Yellowstone spin-offs Marshals and Dutton Ranch, Mayor of Kingstown starring Jeremy Renner, Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King and its upcoming spin-off Frisco King, Landman and The Madison.
