Courtesy: U.S. Navy U.S. Central Command on Monday said Iran fired two ballistic missiles overnight targeting American forces stationed in Kuwait, the latest in a series of attacks that further undermine a threadbare ceasefire. The missiles fired Sunday night at 11 p.m. ET were successfully intercepted and no U.S. personnel were harmed, CENTCOM said in an X post. “U.S. Central Command remains vigilant and will continue to protect our forces from Iranian aggression while supporting the ongoing ceasefire,” the post said. Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry in a statement condemned the attacks, calling them a “dangerous escalation” and asserting the country’s right to take necessary measures to hold Iran “fully responsible for these heinous aggressions.” The missile attacks came after CENTCOM conducted “self-defense strikes on Iranian radar and command and control sites for drones” over the weekend in response to prior Iranian aggression, including “the shootdown of …

Cyprus seeks to Farage-proof its UK military bases – POLITICO

Following the strike, President Nikos Christodoulides called for talks on the future of the “colonial” bases, with Cypriot diplomats expressing “disappointment” at the lack of information-sharing around the incident. It also reopened the issue of how Britain should be allowed to use the bases, with Cyprus calling on the support of fellow EU countries. In March, the European Council gathering EU leaders said it “acknowledges the intention of Cyprus to initiate a discussion with the UK on the UK bases in Cyprus and stands ready to provide assistance as needed.” Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides speaks to the media ahead of a European Council summit in Ayia Napa on April 23, 2026. | Nicolas Tucat/AFP via Getty Images Marc Weller, director of the international law program at Chatham House, said: “Cyprus argues that the U.K. only retained more limited authority relating to defense. While the U.K. view [of full sovereignty] is legally correct, the Iran episode will offer an opportunity for Cyprus to reignite this debate.” The Farage factor Cypriot concerns worsened after Farage initially backed …

Iranian Propaganda vs. U.S. Talking Points: How We Determined the Real Damage to U.S. Military Bases

Iranian Propaganda vs. U.S. Talking Points: How We Determined the Real Damage to U.S. Military Bases

So in the early days of the war between the U.S., Israel and Iran, my colleagues and I started seeing a lot of these videos that were filmed on U.S. military bases and also foreign bases, where the U.S. operates in the Gulf and the Middle East. And they showed a number of Iranian, usually drone strikes, on key infrastructure. And then not too long after that, we started seeing a stream of Iranian satellite imagery that came out of Iranian state media that were then filtering down through social media. And these images claim to show very massive swaths of destruction at these bases that the U.S. operates out of. And normally, what we would do is we would hit these up against American satellite imagery. But the U.S. government requested for American satellite companies to restrict the release of this imagery in the Middle East and the Gulf — not even restrict it, but even to retroactively remove images going back to early March. And also, U.S. officials weren’t talking a whole lot …

The government said Sunday the attacks appear to be over, but several questions remain, including who was in control of a key northern city that the separatists claim …

Starmer Urged To Ban US Jets At RAF Bases

Starmer Urged To Ban US Jets At RAF Bases

Keir Starmer has been urged to ban US jets from flying any missions from RAF bases following Donald Trump’s threat to destroy Iranian civilisation. The US president made the astonishing threat as the deadline he has given for Tehran to re-open the Strait of Hormuz approaches. In a post on Truth Social, he said: “A whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.” Starmer initially turned down Trump’s request to use British bases to launch missions against Iranian targets at the start of the war. However, US jets are now allowed to use the bases for “defensive” strikes on Iranian missile launch sites. Green Party leader Zack Polanski said those should also be banned in light of Trump’s latest threats. Posting on X, he said: “The UK must immediately and unequivocally suspend support for the US military. The government have tried to appease him, then they tried to say they’re standing up to him. Words aren’t enough – it’s time for action.” …

‘It beggars belief’: UK military reveal locations inside sensitive bases through exercise app | UK News

A Conservative MP has said it “beggars belief” that UK military personnel have revealed their locations inside sensitive military bases via the Strava exercise app. Ben Obese-Jecty, a former army officer, has criticised what he regards as the potential threat from Britain’s adversaries, who might discover personal details via the tracking platform. It is reported nearly 520 people working at some of the UK’s most sensitive sites have shared their activity publicly on the app, according to The i Paper. Mr Obese-Jecty, who represents Huntingdon, wrote on X: “I stopped using Strava when I became an MP and I locked down my profile long before that. The app has numerous features to enable you to keep your data private. “It beggars belief that our armed forces don’t have a grip of this given the current, and very real, threat posed by sub-threshold activity from our adversaries.” Using GPS, the Strava app tracks certain activities, like running and cycling, and allows users to share the routes they have taken. The newspaper found that, since January, 110 …
