Police have launched an investigation following the death of a three-month-old baby girl. Emergency services responded to a report of a child in cardiac arrest at about 8.45am on Saturday, September 5. Among the crews sent to land off Strawberry Lane in Great Wyrley was a Midlands Air Ambulance. Despite their best efforts, the girl was sadly pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later, Staffordshire Police said. Officers were called to the scene by colleagues from the Midlands Ambulance Service. Staffordshire Police remained in the area on September 6 to carry out enquiries and reassure the local community. A police cordon also remained in place n the woodland on Sunday The baby’s tragic death is currently being treated as “unexplained”, the force said.
