Mike White Casts Survivor 50 Charlie, Kamilla for White Lotus Season 4

Mike White revealed during the Survivor 50 finale on Wednesday night that his fellow players, Charlie Davis and Kamilla Karthigesu, will be featured on the fourth season of The White Lotus. The Emmy Award winner called into the live finale episode as he’s currently in France shooting for the upcoming installment. While speaking with Jeff Probst, the host asked if season four would encompass any Survivor cameos and if he’d be able to reveal exactly which players were joining the scripted series. “Everybody’s invited, but there are gonna be two contestants that we’re flying out to be in the show, and they are Charlie and Kamilla,” White said. White has famously featured former Survivor players from his first season in every installment of the beloved HBO drama. He originally appeared on the show’s 37th season that aired in 2018, which was entitled David vs. Goliath (he was labeled a “Goliath” thanks to his profession as a filmmaker). Season one of The White Lotus featured Alec Merlino in not just a cameo role, but the recurring role …

French media tycoon Vincent Bolloré casts shadow over Cannes opening – arts24

As the 79th Cannes Film Festival opens on the Croisette, politics is competing with glamour for attention. Hundreds of figures from the French film industry have signed an open letter warning about what they describe as the growing influence of the far right within French cinema and media. At the centre of the controversy is French billionaire and media tycoon Vincent Bolloré, owner of Canal+, the powerful television group that plays a major role in financing French films. The letter, published in French daily Libération and signed by figures including actress Juliette Binoche, reflects wider tensions in France over Vincent Bolloré’s expanding media empire and perceived political influence. ‘White Lotus’ Season 4 Casts Ben Kingsley, Max Minghella

The White Lotus is booking in some last-minute guests for its fourth season. Ben Kingsley, Max Minghella and Pekka Strang have joined the HBO show’s sprawling cast as filming continues in France. The three actors will have recurring roles in the coming season. As has been the case throughout the White Lotus casting process, details on the roles Kingsley, Minghella and Strang will play are being kept under (luxury, high thread count) wraps. Season four is currently filming in Cannes and Saint-Tropez, France (with some filming also happening in Paris) and will be set against the backdrop of the Cannes Film Festival — which, in real life, kicks off Tuesday. Kingsley, Minghella and Strang join a cast that also features (deep breath) Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Laura Dern — who came aboard after Helena Bonham Carter departed — Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani and Nadia Tereszkiewicz, along with Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer and Laura Smet. ‘We Were Liars’ Season Two Casts Six New Series Regulars

‘We Were Liars’ Season Two Casts Six New Series Regulars

A new cast of characters is joining the We Were Liars universe for the Prime Video’s series second season. Josh Dallas, Costa D’Angelo, Parker Lapaine, Peyton List, Elysia Roorbach and Madison Wolfe have been cast as series regulars for the show’s second season. The series, which was renewed for a second season last year, will follow E. Lockhart’s 2022 prequel novel, Family of Liars as well as feature new stories about the current cast of characters, the author teased. “The prequel novel is a flashback to when the mom characters are teenagers. So you will see a whole story about that, but you will still see Cadence, you will still see Johnny, and you will still see all those sisters as adults. The showrunners are cooking up new stories for them,” E. Lockhart told The Hollywood Reporter. Dallas will portray a young Harris, following David Morse who starred as Harris Sinclair in season one. Tell Me Lies star D’Angelo will star as Pfeff, a “New England college kid with a mysterious edge.” Parker will portray a young Carrie, a role …

Trump casts doubt on Iran’s new peace proposal – POLITICO

“I’ll let you know about it later,” Trump told reporters in Florida earlier Saturday. “They’re going to give me the exact wording now,” he said before boarding Air Force One. Trump rejected a previous Iranian proposal, but conversations have continued, and the three-week ceasefire appears to be holding. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi told diplomats in Tehran that “the ball is in the United States’ court to choose the path of diplomacy or the continuation of a confrontational approach,” according to media reports. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, meanwhile, briefed EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on Tehran’s latest initiatives aimed at ending the war, Tasnim reported. During a telephone call on Friday, Araqchi and Kallas discussed regional and international developments, according to the report. Source link

The Trump Administration Casts Out the ‘Soul’ of MAHA

The Trump Administration Casts Out the ‘Soul’ of MAHA

As of today, it seems likely that the nation’s next surgeon general will, at least, have an active medical license. President Trump announced that he was pulling his nomination for Casey Means, a wellness influencer who dropped out of her surgical residency in 2018, in a Truth Social post this afternoon. The move is the latest setback for Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Make America Healthy Again movement, which has embraced Means’s criticism of the medical establishment along with her fondness for raw milk and psychedelics. Her book, Good Energy, might as well be MAHA’s bible. Vani Hari, an activist and influencer better known as the Food Babe, told me recently that if Means wasn’t confirmed, it would “ruin the soul of MAHA.” Earlier this month, the White House seemed to still believe that Means could be confirmed. The president invited her to a roundtable for several MAHA influencers. (Among them was Kelly Ryerson, who told me that the group made clear to administration officials that Means’s troubled nomination was killing …

She also wore silver hoops, white heels, and black glasses with blue shades. Meryl was excited about portraying her notorious role of Miranda Priestly again, who has left us with countless sayings. She revealed to Good Morning America: “It was really fun to come back and revisit a character 20 years later — who gets to do that?” The actress is aware of the global anticipation …
