Prosecutors alleged that, with the help of her father, Francisco Gonzalez, and her ex-boyfriend, Kai Faron Cordrey, the TikTok star plotted to kill Avery between 2020 and 2021. “Most fathers raise their children to respect the law, but here we have a dad who allegedly helped his daughter and her boyfriend break the law in the most sinister way imaginable,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a statement. A lawyer for Gabriela Gonzalez did not immediately reply to a request for comment. It is not …

Shocking Number Of Gen Z’ers Are Bringing Mommy & Daddy To Job Interviews

Shocking Number Of Gen Z’ers Are Bringing Mommy & Daddy To Job Interviews

If you thought Gen Z arriving was the long-awaited antidote to the famously coddled Millennials, you might want to rethink that theory. A new survey from career site Zety polled 1,000 Gen Z workers and found that a whopping 44% of these young workers had Mom or Dad help write or edit their resumes, while 20% admitted that a parent had joined them during a job interview (15% in-person, 5% virtually). “Some in Gen Z feel having parental involvement when looking and applying for jobs is important, and I would certainly advocate for taking advice from parents and other mentors who have experience gaining employment,” a financial literacy instructor at the University of Tennessee at Martin said in an interview with Newsweek. “However, there are limits to this engagement, and they almost always end poorly for the applicant.” If you thought those figures were grim, the hand-holding extends even after the job offer letter arrives. Roughly 28% of Gen Z professionals admitted that parents assisted with pay or benefits negotiations, and 32% cited parents as their …

Who’s Your Daddy? A Chatbot

Who’s Your Daddy? A Chatbot

The first time Alesandra Madison’s husband incorporated AI into their relationship was in late 2024. She’d forgotten to do her “nightly kneeling ritual,” and he asked ChatGPT how to properly discipline her. The large language model suggested “a two-in-one punishment,” she says—write 100 lines of “I will remember to kneel for my Dom every night” while kneeling the entire time. Though the couple started exploring kink in their marriage 15 years ago—they are in a dominant-submissive relationship—the AI-generated punishment was new territory for them. Since then, Madison, who is 44 and lives in Los Angeles, says she has come to think of AI as “a powerful enhancement tool” for kink. “A lot of the times in dom-sub dynamics, when the submissive misbehaves—if it’s consented to—you will have a punishment. You want something specific to fit the crime, basically. It’s like a fresh set of eyes on your relationship.” AI represents a unique evolution in how power is distributed for people into bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadism and masochism—BDSM. The lifestyle structure, as …

Remember HQ? ‘Quiz Daddy’ Scott Rogowsky is back with TextSavvy, a daily mobile game show

Remember HQ? ‘Quiz Daddy’ Scott Rogowsky is back with TextSavvy, a daily mobile game show

Scott Rogowsky is a comedian — he knows how to make fun of himself. That’s how he ended up roaming New York City Comic Con with his own photo printed out like a “Wanted” poster, filming himself asking strangers, “Have you seen this man?” These passersby showed a flicker of recognition, looking at the tall, bearded man like someone they had known in a past life, but couldn’t quite place. “You look familiar! Where do I know you from?” someone asks, as though Rogowsky could be a friend of a friend they had met at a party. “I know your face,” another person says, staring thoughtfully at the 41-year-old. A cosplayer dressed as a Ghostbuster finally figures it out. “Did you used to do that game show online?” he asks. “Like, every night?” Rogowsky was just poking fun at himself, embracing the persona of a washed-up internet sensation. “I know my place,” he tells TechCrunch. “I’m not walking around like everybody’s supposed to know who I am.”  Techcrunch event Boston, MA | June 9, 2026 …

6 Signs A Person Struggles With Daddy Issues

6 Signs A Person Struggles With Daddy Issues

What are daddy issues? Don’t we all have them at some point? It’s okay to have daddy issues because life is bound to happen. But, for some of us, daddy issues become a problem because they block us from connecting with everyone around us, including ourselves. It’s almost like we unconsciously use our daddy issues as an excuse to run away from our personal responsibility to heal ourselves, let go of the past, and move forward. And the dangerous thing about having daddy issues isn’t merely about having them, it’s about not knowing that we do. Here are some subtle and obvious signs that someone in your life is struggling with daddy issues 1. They fall for emotionally unavailable people. Unconsciously, you protect yourself by choosing someone who is emotionally not on the same page as you are. Do you want commitment? You chase after someone who doesn’t want a relationship.  You often end up in almost-relationships and if you ever get involved in a real relationship, it often does not last. You go after people who …

Jen Psaki Taunts ‘Daddy’ Trump Over Greenland Gaffe

Jen Psaki Taunts ‘Daddy’ Trump Over Greenland Gaffe

MS Now host Jen Psaki had plenty of material to pick from as she roasted President Donald Trump over a rambling speech he delivered on Wednesday during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It was hard to keep track of all the gaffes and distortions the US president dropped during his address, during which he argued that countries sometimes need a “dictator,” repeatedly mixed up “Greenland” and “Iceland,” and bizarrely bragged about people calling him “daddy.” During Wednesday’s episode of The Briefing with Jen Psaki, the former White House press secretary used the icky nickname to mock Trump. “Hey, daddy, I have a question for you. Why are we talking about Iceland all of a sudden?” she asked. “I mean, I thought the territory that you wanted to take over is Greenland, not Iceland,” the pundit continued. “You can see them on the map there. Two different countries.” Sarcastically, Psaki added, “But hey, we all make mistakes from time to time. A slip of the tongue. I mean, it’s not like you repeated that …

Daddy Issues by Kate Goldbeck

Daddy Issues by Kate Goldbeck

Twenty-six-year-old Sam Pulaski is living what many would call a nightmare: sleeping in her mother’s office, stuck in a dead-end bartending job, clutching an art history degree that’s gathering dust alongside her dreams of academic glory. Her romantic life is equally stagnant, anchored to Hal, a pretentious manchild who treats their situationship like an experimental film nobody asked to watch. Sam’s life has been on pause for five years, and she’s running out of excuses for why she hasn’t pressed play. Enter Nick Martino, the new neighbor who arrives with a toolbox in one hand and a nine-year-old daughter named Kira in the other. He’s everything Sam isn’t looking for: pushing forty, divorced, and decidedly settled. He manages a chain restaurant, drives a minivan, and spends his free time watching Star Trek reruns for comfort. But Kate Goldbeck’s sophomore novel, Daddy Issues, proves that sometimes the person who disrupts your carefully maintained dysfunction is exactly what you need. The Beautiful Mess of Dating a Single Dad Goldbeck doesn’t romanticize the challenges of falling for a …
