Christo-Inspired Artwork By French Artist JR Delayed Because of Storm

The opening of a public artwork by French artist JR inspired by Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s 1985 intervention The Pont Neuf Wrapped has reportedly been delayed after a storm damaged the installation overtop the River Seine in Paris. As reported by Euronews, the opening planned for this weekend has been postponed to an unspecified date after severe winds mangled part of the artwork on the oldest bridge in the French capital. A statement from Atelier JR, the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation, and the Amicale des Ponts de Paris said, “The decision has been taken to postpone the opening of the work to a date after 6 June, which will be set in light of the findings of the condition report.” A full assessment of the damage is currently underway and a new opening date will follow. Apple’s Smart Glasses Reportedly Delayed Until Late 2027

If you’ve had your sights set on sliding on a pair of Apple’s smart glasses, you’re going to have to wait a little longer than previously thought. Apple is now aiming to release the much-rumored AI glasses in “late 2027,” according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The glasses were previously expected to be announced later this year and begin shipping in early 2027, but Gurman reported in his Power On newsletter Sunday that Apple has experienced “bumps” in development. Apple’s smart glasses are regarded as a key component of the company’s product roadmap, Gurman writes. People close to Tim Cook tell Gurman that the outgoing  Apple CEO is a strong supporter of the project and regards the glasses as his top priority. John Ternus, who will take the reins from Cook in September, is said to be the driving force behind the project, having led the product development team for the past two years. Gurman said the glasses will feature design elements such as “oval-shaped cameras, unique colors, and multiple frame styles” in an effort to stand …

Donald Trump’s health results delayed as doctor raises serious ‘risk’ concern | World | News

Donald Trump’s health report has yet to be made public after the US President underwent a medical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Trump visited the facility on Tuesday for what was his third physical examination of his second term in office. The White House has not confirmed whether the results will be released, despite previously publishing updates on the President’s health. The 79-year-old insisted he was in good shape following the appointment. Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Just finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY. “Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff! Heading back to the White House.” The medical comes amid renewed scrutiny over the President’s health ahead of his 80th birthday, particularly after repeated public appearances showing bruising on his hands and swelling around his ankles. The White House has previously attributed the bruising to frequent handshaking and Trump’s daily aspirin regimen. In July, the President was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency — a common condition in older adults which can …

New Doctor Who special tipped to be delayed from Christmas 2026

New Doctor Who special tipped to be delayed from Christmas 2026

Doctor Who’s planned return this Christmas reportedly may be delayed until Easter. The BBC’s flagship sci-fi show was last on our screens in May 2025, when Ncuti Gatwa bowed out as the 15th incarnation of the titular space traveller after two seasons. In the final moments, he was seen regenerating into Billie Piper, who previously played beloved companion Rose Tyler, leaving a major cliffhanger over what’s to come. There have been long-held plans for the show to return at Christmas 2026, with showrunner Russell T Davies previously stating that BBC bosses were left “with jaws agape, loving it”, when he shared plot details for the special. However, The Sun now claims that the festive special may be pushed back while producers continue to search for the next person to take over the role of the Doctor, and the special may instead air over Easter 2027. The BBC declined to comment when approached by Radio Times. Ncuti Gatwa as Doctor Who. BBC Studios/Disney/Bad Wolf/James Pardon While Piper was seen on screen after the regeneration at the end …

Apple iPhone Fold Ultra Delayed Due to Hinge Durability Issues

Apple iPhone Fold Ultra Delayed Due to Hinge Durability Issues

Apple’s much-anticipated entry into the foldable smartphone market, the iPhone Fold Ultra, has encountered a significant obstacle. The device, which aims to blend innovative technology with Apple’s renowned design philosophy, is facing critical issues with its hinge durability. These challenges not only threaten to delay its release but also cast doubt on Apple’s ability to compete in a market already dominated by established players such as Samsung and Huawei. As the foldable smartphone segment continues to evolve rapidly, Apple’s ability to address these issues will be pivotal in determining its success. Durability: A Critical Setback The hinge mechanism of the iPhone Fold Ultra has emerged as a major concern. During rigorous internal testing, the hinge began to exhibit clicking and rattling noises after limited use, failing to meet Apple’s stringent quality standards. This flaw compromises the device’s durability and could tarnish Apple’s reputation for reliability, a cornerstone of its brand identity. To address this issue, Apple may need to undertake a complete redesign of the hinge mechanism. Such a redesign would likely require significant time …

Contributor: Noah Kahan shows how common, and harmful, a delayed OCD diagnosis is

Last week, Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Noah Kahan revealed that in 2025, while on a trip to Joshua Tree, he was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder at age 28. This debilitating condition affects an estimated 10 million people in the U.S. and 240 million globally, causing unwanted intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors. Although the disorder is common, it is severely underdiagnosed. “I started putting all these pieces together from my childhood, and these different rituals I’ve had my whole life. It wasn’t just anxiety or being stressed,” Kahan told Rolling Stone. “I didn’t realize how much of it has nothing to do with physical touch. A lot of it’s a mental obsession.” Kahan explained his thoughts made him think he was in danger, even if it wasn’t real. He said, “I could convince myself that I ran somebody over, knowing for a fact that I didn’t see another person on the road.” He described feelings of shame and fear after telling people about his “insidious” thoughts, worried he’d be judged. I’ve also experienced the disturbing …

Paul Klee Work, Delayed by War in Iran, Is Finally in New York

Paul Klee Work, Delayed by War in Iran, Is Finally in New York

An exhibition of Swiss German artist Paul Klee, at New York’s Jewish Museum, is now complete, thanks to the arrival of a long-delayed loan from the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Angelus Novus (1920) has now taken its place in “Paul Klee: Other Possible Worlds,” which opened March 20 and focuses on work from the last decade of the artist’s life. The piece, measuring just 12 inches high, was previously stuck in Israel as a result of the war that country and the US are waging in Iran, which began with major joint bombardments on February 28.  Related Articles Up until Monday, it was represented by an authorized facsimile and a note in accompanying wall text reading, “Due to current conditions affecting international transport, the shipment of the original artwork has been temporarily delayed.” The facsimile was originally planned to replace the work a month into the show, since the piece, an oil transfer and watercolor on paper, is extremely light-sensitive. The final decade of the artist’s life was itself marked by its own fraught geopolitics, …

Freeport says Grasberg recovery not delayed until 2028, stands by 2027 forecast

Freeport says Grasberg recovery not delayed until 2028, stands by 2027 forecast

May 11 : Freeport-McMoRan said on Monday that it still expects Indonesia’s Grasberg copper and gold mine to resume full production by the end of 2027, reiterating a plan outlined last month and pushing back on reports that the restart could drag into 2028. Grasberg, the world’s second-largest copper mine and largest gold mine, was hit by a massive mud flow last September that killed seven workers and shuttered operations for nearly a month. In late April, Freeport said recovery at the site was taking longer than expected and pushed back a forecast for 85 per cent of production to be restored by the second half of the year, saying that number would now be 65 per cent. Freeport’s executives said that full operations would be restored by the end of 2027. Last week, the Indonesian head of PT Freeport Indonesia, the company that owns the mine, said that the full production restart could be delayed further into 2028. That news sent copper prices to a three-month high as markets absorbed what seemed like yet …

Apple to Pay 0 Million to Settle Class Action Over Delayed Siri Features

Apple to Pay $250 Million to Settle Class Action Over Delayed Siri Features

Apple will pay $250 million to settle a class action lawsuit accusing it of false advertising and unfair competition after the personalized Siri features it promoted when launching the iPhone 16 were delayed. A smarter, Apple Intelligence version of ‌Siri‌ was shown off at WWDC 2024, and then promoted in ads and videos when the ‌iPhone 16‌ launched in September 2024. After Apple delayed the Siri Apple Intelligence features in March 2025, Apple pulled its ads, but they had been running for several months at that point. The lawsuit claimed Apple violated consumer law by misleading consumers about the actual utility and performance of ‌Apple Intelligence‌, and causing them to purchase a device “with features that did not exist or were materially misrepresented.” Apple was not found guilty of any wrongdoing, and the company sometimes settles lawsuits to minimize legal fees and time spent on litigation. A settlement agreement was reached back in December, but the terms of the settlement are now live. In a statement to MacRumors, Apple said that resolved the lawsuit so …
