Woman has £8,000 suitcase and handbag stolen in ‘paint’ distraction theft at central London station
A woman had her expensive personal items stolen off her at a busy central London station after a thief told her she had paint on her coat. Using distraction techniques to steal the items, a man approached a woman at St Pancras Station on December 27 at around 9.45am. He told her she had paint on her jacket and helped her to clean it off. However, a second man swooped in and stole her suitcase and handbag while she was distracted. The items cost more than £8,000. Police officers want to speak to these people in connection with an investigation (British Transport Police) The station is known to be a hotspot for bag thefts. Last year a thief swiped a suitcase containing £250,000 worth of jewellery and designer bags belonging to Jenson Button’s wife Brittny .
