Yellowstone spin-off Marshals ended its first season with a sweet tribute, dedicating the episode to an important member of the production team who passed away. Leonard E Hancock Jr, known to those around him as Lenny, was the props master for the series until his death at the age of 54 in December. As the season 1 finale of the series – which focuses on Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) – finished on Sunday, a dedication card showing Hancock appeared on the screen. Marshals was one of the last projects Hancock worked on prior to his death, sharing photographs on his Instagram from the set. One picture from October showed his reserved parking spot, bearing the Marshals logo, where he wrote: “My home for the last 5 months has been Park City Utah. Marshals reveals new storyline in season 1 finale following death

The first season of Yellowstone spin-off Marshals has now come to an end, with the finale setting up a potential new love story for season 2. This comes after the first episode of the season revealed a shock death, with the wife of Luke Grimes’s Kayce Dutton, Kelsey Asbille’s Monica, having been killed off screen after the end of Yellowstone season 5. While a number of potential romances have been teased in the first season of Marshals, including one with Deputy US Marshal Andrea Cruz, the finale saw developments between Kayce and Ellyn Jameson’s Dolly Weaver. Kayce was seen riding off into the sun with Dolly near the end of the season finale, setting up a potential Romeo and Juliet style storyline, given Dolly’s family. Dolly is the daughter of Chris Mulkey’s Tom Weaver who has been trying to buy Kayce’s East Camp. However, he doesn’t know that Tom is actually ruthless, and is just after his land. The season’s penultimate episode, “Rain or Shine,” opened with a moving glimpse into Ali’s past, showing viewers, for the first time, the darker side he’s often alluded to. He’s shown getting high and cheating on his wife with a fellow junkie (played by Natasha Lyonne), then bringing an abusive temper back home.  This leads into a key moment between Ali and Rue in the present, as he learns of her precarious situation trying to navigate her tenuous relationships with two rival drug gangs — and the DEA as an informant. Marshals, a new Yellowstone spinoff starring Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, is airing on CBS right now. You can also tune in with Paramount Plus. The Yellowstone sequel series sees Grimes’ former Navy SEAL join an elite unit of US Marshals to bring range justice to Montana, according to a synopsis from CBS. President Donald Trump spent the week insisting that Stephen Colbert had “no ratings.” The numbers told a different story. “Colbert is finally finished at CBS,” Trump wrote on Truth Social after the late-night host’s final episode of *The Late Show*. “No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person.” But Nielsen data reported shows Colbert’s farewell broadcast drew roughly 6.74 million viewers — the largest audience of his tenure and a sharp spike compared with his typical viewership, which had hovered closer to the mid–2 million range in recent months. The finale also outperformed standard weeknight late-night competition by a wide margin, turning the sendoff into a notable ratings moment rather than a collapse. It’s worth noting that another late night foe of Trump — Jimmy Kimmel — also saw over 6 million viewers in his own ratings for his return after a brief hiatus last year. The most-watched episode of the show’s entire run came on February 7, 2016, when a special episode followed that year’s Super Bowl and was watched by 20.55 million viewers. When Colbert took over The Late Show franchise on September 8, 2015 his first episode averaged 6.55 million viewers. That was down from the 13.76 million who tuned in for his predecessor David Letterman’s last show in May 2015, but up from the average audience of 2.8 million who watched Letterman’s final season from 2014 to 2015. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is officially a late show, as in no longer with us. Its last Questionert has been answered; its final Rescue Dog rescued; its ultimate guest (Sir Paul McCartney) has left the building. Colbert filled his 80-minute finale with the same thoughtfulness, warmth and irony that has characterized his show over the last decade. In an earlier episode leading up to the end, his late night compadre Jimmy Kimmel expressed what many of us watching felt: “I’m waiting for angry Stephen to come out! I want you to go nuts.” But Colbert chose to leave the stage with grace and tenderness rather than rancor. The ten months since CBS announced Colbert’s cancellation have served as an extended advance wake—for the show but also for an entertainment industry impervious to political pressure.
