Highlights From 2nd Batch Of Declassified UFO Files Include A UAP Shootdown

The Pentagon’s second batch of declassified UFO files released on May 22 includes videos such as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) being shot down over the Great Lakes and audio of astronauts witnessing a series of unexplained phenomena. Dozens of documents were cleared for release on Friday, adding to the previous document dump on May 8, which revealed that Apollo 11 astronauts reported seeing a “sizable” object near the moon. The Epoch Times’ Jacki Thrapp offers the following highlights from a partial review of the newly released files. UAP Shot Down The U.S. Air Force shot down a balloon-shaped UAP over Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes located between the United States and Canada, on Feb. 12, 2023. Apple’s Siri revamp could include auto-deleting chats

Privacy will be a major theme when Apple unveils a new version of Siri at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The Siri relaunch is widely seen as Apple’s big chance to reestablish its relevance in artificial intelligence. As part of that effort, company executives will argue that they’re taking a more privacy-friendly approach than most other AI companies, Gurman said. Apple will reportedly launch the first standalone Siri app, powered by Google Gemini and offering users a chatbot experience reminiscent of ChatGPT.  But compared to those other chatbots, the app is supposed to have more limitations on how long user information can be used and stored. For example, Gurman said Siri could include a feature similar to the Messages app, allowing users to automatically delete conversations after 30 days or one year — or to keep them indefinitely. Gurman also suggested that Apple might be emphasizing privacy as a way to excuse Siri’s shortcomings compared to competing products — and that this emphasis might obscure the fact that Google …

Canada’s Assisted Suicide Program Could Include Children And The Mentally Ill

Canada’s Assisted Suicide Program Could Include Children And The Mentally Ill

Canada’s MAID program is the subject of ongoing concern among anti-globalist movements across the western world.  The assisted suicide system kills around 15,000 or more Canadians each year and is quickly expanding to include more and more people who are not terminally ill.   Almost all assisted suicide programs are created by liberal governments and all of them are initially promoted as a way to “end the suffering” of people who are close to death anyway.  However, this is merely the first stage of the greater goal, which is to normalize the government sanctioned killing of almost anyone for any reason.  Keep in mind, the activists and politicians who constantly pontificate about the need for mass immigration into the west from the third world in order to solve population decline are the same people who support mass abortions and mass suicides.  They are also, for some reason, staunchly against the government execution of murderers.  It doesn’t make rational sense, until you realize these people are psychopathic. Canadian Conservatives are currently fighting for a freeze on expansion …

The best new science fiction books of May 2026 include a new Murderbot and books from Alan Moore and Ann Leckie

Alexander Skarsgård in Murderbot, adapted from Martha Wells’s novels Steve Wilkie / Apple TV+ Some months, I end up scraping the bottom of the barrel to find enough interesting science fiction to tell you about. This May that wasn’t a problem – there’s tons to look forward to, whether you’re after time-travelling romance from Matt Haig (yes please), extinction events in London from Temi Oh (I’ve already read this and it’s a lot of fun), the latest Murderbot novel (hurrah) or a generation-ship story that comes garlanded with praise. There are also new titles from big names Ann Leckie and Alan Moore. If that’s not enough, then you can join the New Scientist Book Club here, and our lively Discord channel here, where we’re discussing all things sci-fi and popular science. I got into the Murderbot books a few years back, when we read the first in the series, All Systems Red, with the New Scientist Book Club. I’m a proper fan now, including of the new television series starring Alexander Skarsgård as the eponymous cyborg …

Prostitutes’ ‘beware book’ could include client list of police and lawyers

Prostitutes’ ‘beware book’ could include client list of police and lawyers

A “beware book” kept by women working in Glasgow’s red-light district around the time of Emma Caldwell’s murder could be damning for police if its contents were uncovered, a retired detective has said. The book was used by women involved in prostitution to warn each other about potentially dangerous or suspicious clients, at a time when they felt they had to rely on “their wits and each other, not the authorities” to remain safe. Kept at the city’s Base 75 drop-in centre, the book contained information such as vehicle registrations, names, nicknames and descriptions of clients. One woman who wrote in the book claimed that the clients listed in it included “lawyers, police, all sorts”. The “beware book” was taken as evidence by police during the investigation into Caldwell’s murder in 2005. It has since “gone missing”. Stuart Hall, a retired detective, was tasked with seizing the book on his first day of the investigation. Stuart Hall worked on the investigation into Emma Caldwell’s murder “I never read its contents. But the book was seized, …
