June 6 : Iraq have called up Ahmed Hassan Makenzie to their 2026 World Cup squad to replace Ahmed Yahya, who has been ruled out of the tournament with a hamstring injury, the national team announced on Saturday. “Based on the medical report, head coach Graham Arnold has decided to call up Ahmed Makenzie and register him in the final squad for the 2026 World Cup finals in place of Ahmed Yahya,” the national team said in a statement on X. The decision came as the Iraqi delegation arrived in Chicago in the early hours of the morning to prepare for the tournament. A man has died and four children have been injured after a car collided with a building in the West Midlands. The Honda Civic collided with a building on High Street in Princes End, Tipton on Tuesday evening (June 2), just before 10.20pm. The driver of the Honda Civic, a 48-year-old man, died at the scene, West Midlands Police said. There were five other occupants in the vehicle, the force also said, including a woman and four children, who were all taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The road was closed overnight and has now reopened. A man has lost his life and four others remain in a serious condition in hospital following a horrific shooting in Sydney, Australia. Officers were called to Liverpool Hospital in Sydney’s southwest at approximately 8.30pm on Tuesday, 19 May, after reports emerged that two men – aged 28 and 32 – had arrived with multiple wounds. Despite receiving treatment for a gunshot wound, the 28-year-old tragically passed away shortly afterwards. He is yet to be formally identified. The 32-year-old remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition with a neck injury. At around 8.40pm, two further men – aged 23 and 22 – made their own way to Fairfield Hospital in serious conditions.
