Heated Rivalry Creator Teases Season 2’s ‘More Serious Territory’

Heated Rivalry showrunner Jacob Tierney is teasing the storylines and “new challenges” that will be at the center of the queer hockey romance drama’s second season. While speaking at a BookCon panel on Saturday, alongside the book series’ author Rachel Reid, Tierney got candid about Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie) being “in much more serious territory” in the second installment, set to be released next year. “It’s different. It really is different,” he said. “And the challenge of it, from an adaptation point of view, is that you’re in much more serious territory. A lot of the initial — there’s still lots of flirting and lots of sex — but this kind of danger, this kind of hotel-room-adolescent-sex stuff is largely gone. And so it presents really new challenges.” After Shane and Ily confessed their love for each other at the end of season one, season two — which will focus on The Long Game, the sequel to Heated Rivalry in Reid’s Game Changer series — sees the couple navigate being in a secret …

Connor Storrie Makes Saturday Night Live Debut With Hudson Williams

Connor Storrie has officially made his Saturday Night Live debut. The 26-year-old actor was absent from the Trump-centric cold open, entering onto the stage for his monologue to loud cheers. “Now, some of you may have seen all of me on my show Heated Rivalry,” he joked to the audience. “It’s a show that’s taught a lot people about hockey, and it’s taught a lot of straight women that their sexuality is actually gay men.” Storrie, who admitted to crying when he booked the show, lamented on the fact he was born to be there before joking that he wasn’t sure he pulled off the hockey portion of Heated Rivalry. He then brought out Quinn and Jack Hughes from the U.S. men’s hockey team and Hilary Knight and Megan Keller from the U.S. women’s hockey team. The men said they haven’t seen the show, before the women assured Storrie they’d seen it. The monologue didn’t shy away from taking a dig at the video that showed the men’s hockey team laughing along with President Trump …

Rachel Reid’s Next ‘Heated Rivalry’ Novel ‘Unrivaled’ Pushed to 2027

Unrivaled, the next novel by Rachel Reid, has been moved to 2027, the author said Tuesday. Reid, the New York Times best-selling author of Heated Rivalry, announced earlier this year that she’s releasing the seventh book in her Game Changers series. The book series serves as the source material of the wildly popular Crave-HBO Max, Heated Rivalry. In a video posted to Instagram, Reid explained Unrivaled would need to move to June 2027 from its original September 2026 release date. The Canadian author started by sharing her gratitude for the last few months. “I can’t really put into words what any of this feels like for an author,” Reid said in the video. “My life has gotten very different in the last couple months, and although it’s all good, it’s also taken away my ability to have quality time to write,” she added. “There’s nothing more important to me than Unrivaled being the best book it can possibly be.” Reid has been open about being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. “I think when good things happen, …
