For all of his acting bonafides (to the tune of a shellful of Academy Awards and BAFTAs), the reason we here at GQ keep coming back to Daniel Day-Lewis is simple: We really like the way he dresses. His off-duty workwear outfits, pre-trend hoop earrings, and enviable off-beat tailoring have made him a longstanding fit god around these parts. The only problem, then, is that the retired actor rarely makes public appearances. But you know how it goes—absence, it makes the heart grow fonder. For years, the thespian has turned the concrete jungle into his private runway, and he did it yet again during a stroll with his wife, the filmmaker Rebecca Miller, on Thursday.
