Drivers on the London Underground have announced a series of strikes across March, April and May in a dispute over proposed changes to working patterns. The walkouts, organised by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT), will involve seven 24-hour strikes taking place from midday until 11.59am the following day. The action is in opposition to plans by Transport for London (TfL) to introduce a four-day working week for drivers by compressing hours into four longer shifts instead of the current five-day pattern.
