In September of 2025, prosecutors in the Charlie Kirk murder case alleged that they had access to a hand-written note left by prime suspect Tyler Robinson for his trans boyfriend which contained a confession to the crime.  Tyler Robinson, 22, left a note under a keyboard for his roommate/romantic partner to discover, said Utah County Attorney Jeffrey Gray.   According to Mr Gray, the note said: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.”  Newly unsealed court documents now reveal that this letter does indeed exist.  An affidavit for a search warrant outlined a letter that Tyler Robinson allegedly wrote before Charlie Kirk’s assassination.  Robinson is accused of shooting and killing the conservative political activist on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University. Detectives seized ammunition, computers, a DNA sample, and a copy of a note that Robinson allegedly left for his roommate, with whom he had a romantic relationship.  The affidavit states that an FBI agent met with Robinson’s partner, Lance Twiggs, whom Robinson sometimes referred to as “Luna.”  …

Savannah Guthrie returned to the Today desk on Monday after a two-month absence, amid the ongoing investigation into her mother Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. However, the day was overshadowed by an update in the case. Reporters at media outlet TMZ received two more ransom notes upon Savannah’s return to TV, asking for money in exchange for information on her whereabouts. According to the outlet, the ransom notes came from the same person who sent them notes in February. Speculation has grown about the fate of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie, as investigations into her disappearance enter their eighth week. Nancy went missing on February 1 from her home in Tucson, Arizona, and the family have since offered a $1 million reward to whoever can provide information that leads to her discovery. Amongst several ransom notes that Savannah and her family received in the days after Nancy’s disappearance, two were believed to have been real, as she shared in an interview with Hoda Kotb for Today. We’ve all heard how Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan first thought that his beloved crime drama would tell the story of how a Mr. Chips-type everyman would turn into Scarface. But during a South by Southwest Film & TV Festival panel on Saturday morning titled “Albuquerque Aftermath: From Breaking Bad to Pluribus,” Gilligan said he found a notebook which had the very first conception for the show — and it was only nine words. “I found this old notepad in my office a few years back, and it was the very first idea for this,” Gilligan said. “And who knows where ideas come from? But it said: ‘Good guy does something bad to save his family.’” Then Gilligan retold the story of how he fleshed out his idea of a high school chemistry teacher with cancer who cooks meth to provide for his family and then pitched it to Sony Pictures Television. This story is part of Image’s March Outside issue, a celebration of the Los Angeles outdoors and the many lives to be lived under its unencumbered sky. My New Year’s resolution is to walk in Griffith Park once every other week. This shouldn’t be hard to accomplish — I live a 15-minute walk from one of the main park entrances — and yet, I am averaging more like once a month. Still, those occasional walks are already among my most memorable experiences of the year: the densely green foliage from all the rain, the reward of a strawberry lemonade from the Trails Cafe, lying on the grass in front of the observatory and watching the clouds expand and thin, gossiping with a friend and taking a photo of her against the auburn hills at sunset, hearing hungry coyotes yipping beyond the bushes. A man shared that his friend, who is about to be married, sent a note to all of her wedding guests requesting that they pay $75 for their meal at the reception to help offset the cost of the ceremony. He wondered if this was just normal nowadays or if he was right to find it off-putting. Weddings have always been a shaky balance between wanting to celebrate with loved ones and also not wanting to go over budget. Prices for venues, catering, flowers, music, food, and drinks are only continuing to rise, meaning couples are truly having to think outside of the box to make their magical day a reality.
