The one original Devil Wears Prada outfit that Anne Hathaway ‘took a pair of scissors’ to for the sequel

The one original Devil Wears Prada outfit that Anne Hathaway ‘took a pair of scissors’ to for the sequel

The Devil Wears Prada 2 finally hit theaters on May 1, the long-awaited sequel to the original 2006 film that has become a classic for its hilarious gags, cultural references, and yes, the fashions. While several moments from the original stick in fans’ brains (the many coats and bags slung on desks, “the Chanel boots,” Andy Sachs’ montage to “Vogue”), it’s arguably hard to beat Miranda Priestley’s (Meryl Streep) iconic and vicious monologue about cerulean in response to Anne Hathaway’s sweater. © Alamy Stock Photo“The Devil Wears Prada” sequel is finally in theaters! Spoilers, spoilers! (spoiler alert!!) And you best believe, that cerulean makes a comeback in the sequel for a sweet, full-circle moment at the movie’s very end, when Andy (Anne) walks into the offices of Runway, this time dressed in a white button-down with jeans and, you guessed it, a cerulean sweater. This version of the sweater is a lot more chic and flattering, cut into a sweater vest with a V-neck and frayed edges, which costume designer Molly Rogers cites as an …

Startup Says It Can Read Your Brain Signals Using a Pair of Headphones

Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech Whether they’re harvesting your data or serving you ads, consumer electronics brands have always wanted to get inside your head. Now, a hip neurotech startup says its devices can do exactly that. The startup, called Neurable, recently announced it was licensing its “non-invasive” brain-computer interface headphones to consumer product manufacturers. First covered by TechCrunch, the company is casting a pretty wide net in its search for licensees, including the health, gaming, and productivity industries. “Through Neurable’s licensing platform, OEMs can directly integrate its AI-powered brain-sensing technology into existing hardware, such as headphones, hats, glasses, and headbands, while maintaining full control over product design, user experience, and distribution,” Neurable said in a press release. While buzzy companies like Elon Musk’s infamous Neuralink seek to plant hardware inside human brains, Neurable is trying to circumvent the operating room altogether. The company has previously partnered with audio brand Master & Dynamic to put out the MW75 Neuro LT brain-scanning headphones, which …

NotebookLM is most powerful when you pair it with Obsidian and Gemini

NotebookLM is most powerful when you pair it with Obsidian and Gemini

NotebookLM is genuinely impressive on its own. Upload a few sources, ask questions, get grounded answers. But what next? How do I make these insights a more permanent part of my knowledge base? Obsidian, on the other hand, is a catch-all long-term knowledge store that’s relatively mute. Gemini bridges both. Together, the three tools form a loop in this experiment. I capture in Obsidian, interrogate in NotebookLM, develop it in Gemini, and route everything back to Obsidian. I find this especially powerful for repurposing stuff from my vault. I upload existing Obsidian notes into NotebookLM, prompt it to identify recurring themes, then use Gemini to transform those insights into other formats like infographics or a briefing doc. Related I connected my Obsidian vault to NotebookLM for real — it’s absurdly powerful This is the first Obsidian and NotebookLM setup that actually feels connected. Give it ten tightly related notes on …

We’ve tested hundreds of running shoes. How to choose the right pair for you

We’ve tested hundreds of running shoes. How to choose the right pair for you

If you’ve been running for a while, you might be thinking about signing up for a marathon or shorter-distance event. Or, maybe you’re newer to the sport but want to sign up for a race to keep you motivated. Mounsey says there is no singular answer to what the ‘best’ shoe is for an event, explaining that “runners train and race in different types of shoes, prioritising comfort and cushioning for daily mileage and then switching to a race day shoe for propulsion and speed.” Newkey-Burden awarded the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Elite v5 his best pair overall, and said these are the ones he’ll be wearing to run the London Marathon this year. He says these feel “cushioned and smooth” on my longer runs. “For shorter park runs the acceleration was equally evident. New Balance describes the SuperComp Elite v5 as a shoe for ‘podium ambition’. For me, these near‑flawless trainers deserve a gold medal of their own.” Another pair he shouted out for marathon training is the Ena Athletics Proto Runner 1, “Whatever …
