Many sneaky kids take advantage of their parents’ kindness and generosity for personal gain, feeling a sense of entitlement over their parents’ time and energy. According to psychologist and parent coach Jeffrey Bernstein, parents often fall victim to their kids’ manipulative tactics, but by recognizing a few sly phrases that sneaky kids use most often, they can begin to set boundaries and see through these sly tactics. Sneaky kids who manipulate their parents often say these things casually: 1. ‘I didn’t ask to be born’ Many parents unknowingly enable their manipulative adult children’s behavior to grapple with the guilt they feel from making mistakes, according to Bernstein. Nick Reiner Indicted For Killings of Parents Rob and Michele Reiner

Nick Reiner has been indicted for the slayings of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, in their Brentwood home last year, with prosecutors signaling an aggressive posture on the case as they look to trial. Reiner has been held in custody without bail since pleading not guilty to the murders in February. He was initially charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances relating to multiple homicides, allowing the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office to seek a sentence of life without parole upon conviction. The new indictment adds another special circumstance allegation that Reiner committed the murders by means of lying in wait, meaning prosecutors believe the killings were premeditated. He pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to the charges. Parents are told to treasure every moment: “It goes by in the blink of an eye!” Yet for many, the early months of parenthood do not feel fast so much as relentless: a blur of feedings, worries and appointments in which time seems to belong to everyone but the parents themselves. How do we find balance when every minute is already spoken for? This is the question at the heart of my research. Over years of fieldwork in Toronto’s wealthiest and most disadvantaged neighbourhoods, I interviewed more than 200 people and surveyed over 1,000, among them first-time parents. I develop these findings in Timeless, my forthcoming book. Parenthood eats everyone’s hours, but it takes different bites depending on the size of your bank account. What both rich and poor make clear is that time balance is not a matter of accumulating free hours. After all, no one can hoard more than 24 hours in one day. Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott have become first-time parents. The couple reportedly welcomed a baby daughter in late July, according to reports. TMZ posted photos of the actress carrying a baby in New York after seeing Death of a Salesman on Sunday, which marked Abbott’s last performance. Abbott played Biff Loman in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s classic play opposite Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf; he earned his first Tony Award nomination for the role, and they attended the ceremony as a couple (see photo above). Plaza, meanwhile, earned an Emmy nom for best supporting actress in a drama series for her role in The White Lotus in 2023. She also was the co-creator of Prime Videos animated series Kevin.
