Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling Marry in Intimate Gloucestershire Ceremony

The occasion also marked the first public appearance with the royal family for several months by the groom’s cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. The pair, who are the daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, have avoided the spotlight in light of the allegations against their father. Beatrice, accompanied by husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, wore a green floral dress. Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank, who are expecting their third child, both wore navy. She wore a white sheath gown with long sleeves and a high lace collar, custom-made by designer Emilia Wickstead. Constructed using three different elements, a square-neck column underdress, delicate lace over-jacket, and 10-foot train, the gown took hundreds of hours of work to complete. Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling share romantic first kiss after fairytale wedding

Harriet Sperling and Peter Phillips shared their first kiss as husband and wife as they emerged from the church after their Cotswolds wedding ceremony in front of members of the royal family.  The rain did not dampen the newlyweds’ spirits as they posed for photographs outside All Saints Church, which is located in Kemble, Cirencester, close to where bride Harriet grew up. The blushing bride, 45, chose a column-style dress with a lace neckline and sleeves, and a dramatic train designed by Emilia Wickstead. There had been speculation in the lead-up to the ceremony as to whether Harriet would wear a tiara, and she did not disappoint. The jewels chosen were the Pragnell family tiara, as well as a set of earrings.  Peter and Harriet were supported by their bridal party, including his teenage daughters from his first marriage to Autumn Kelly – Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14 – and Harriet’s daughter, Georgina.  The groom’s divorced parents, the Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, his stepfather Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, his sister Zara Tindall …

Princess Anne Is Hosting Peter Phillips’s Wedding Reception at Her 19th-Century Mansion

The late queen purchased Gatcombe Park in 1976 as a wedding present for Anne after she married her first husband, Mark Phillips. (According to author Geoffrey Sanders, the estate of more than 500 acres cost about 500,000 British pounds at the time. Its previous owners later said that the royal family was a tough negotiator on the purchase price.) Rebuilt in the 1820s, the Georgian mansion required significant renovations to be inhabitable, but the stonework and floor plan of the main structure and its glass-walled conservatory remained largely intact. Anne used to be a professional equestrian and even competed in the three-day event at the 1976 Olympics. When she moved into Gatcombe Park, she upgraded the stables and turned them into a modern center for such events. From the early 1980s to 2023, Anne used the grounds to host the annual Festival of British Eventing, which attracted riders from around the world. Gatcombe Park in June 1976. Who Made the Guest List for Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling’s Wedding?

Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla’s attendance is unknown, as the wedding coincides with the Epsom Derby, where Charles will present a trophy, palace officials have confirmed. Prince Harry, Phillips’s cousin, is also not expected to make the trip to the UK for the wedding. Phillips was close to William and Harry when they were growing up and was cited as a peacemaker between the two brothers when they fell out after Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. “It’s the first royal wedding since Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank, and prior to that Harry and Meghan’s nuptials, but it’s going to be on a much smaller scale to both of those very grand Windsor affairs,” Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty Magazine, told Vanity Fair. “I think this is going to feel and look a lot more like an intimate family wedding than a royal wedding. Don’t forget it’s [the] second time round for Peter and Harriet, and I think the fact that the reception is at Princess Anne’s home signals …

A formidable character who became the matriarch of the Royal Family, Princess Victoria Mary of Teck was born at Kensington Palace on May 26, 1867 in the same room where Queen Victoria (who was a distant cousin) had been born 40 years prior. In 1891, Mary, then 24, was betrothed to her second cousin once removed, Prince Albert, eldest son of the then Prince of Wales (future King Edward VII). However, six weeks after the announcement of the engagement, Prince Albert died unexpectedly during an influenza pandemic. The following year, Mary became engaged to his only surviving brother, Prince George (future King George V), and married him in 1893. When he became Prince of Wales in 1901, she became Princess of Wales. In 1910, following the death of his father, King Edward VII, King George V acceded to the throne and Mary became Queen. In 1936, her husband died, and was succeeded by her son, Edward VIII, until he abdicated in favor of his brother, George VI, in order to marry Wallis Simpson. When Queen Mary’s granddaughters, Princess …

With the grand ceremonies, horse-drawn carriages and billowing wedding dresses, it’s easy to believe that all royal romances are fairytales come true. However, not all romances end like Cinderella, and several royal couples have split after marrying. However, some royal lovebirds end up splitting before they even make it down the aisle to say ‘I do’. While many break up before someone proposes, one memorable royal split saw the bride-to-be calling off the service after suspecting infidelity. Princess Anne was the spitting image of Zara Tindall in sparkly bridesmaid dress – aged 14

As we head towards peak wedding season, we’re preparing for Peter Phillips’ nuptials with Harriet Sperling at All Saints Church in Cirencester on 6 June. It’s likely that their bridal party will include their daughters from their first marriages: Savannah and Isla Phillips, whom Peter shares with his ex-wife, Autumn, and Georgina, whom Harriet welcomed with ex Antonio St John Sperling. While we wait with bated breath to see their bridesmaid dresses, we’re casting our minds back to when Peter’s mother, Princess Anne, was a teenager. Aged 14, the Princess Royal jetted to Athens, where she took on bridesmaid duties for King Constantine II of the Hellenes and Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark’s wedding at the Metropolitan Cathedral on 18 September 1964. Resurfaced photos show Anne glancing over her shoulder as she stood with the other bridesmaids, who all wore similar floor-length white dresses with cropped sheer sleeves, an empire waist embellished with a bow, and an embellished hem with sparkles that caught the light. While the other bridesmaids had a boat neck, teenager Anne stood …

Princess Anne is the spitting image of daughter Zara Tindall in unearthed photo

Princess Anne was the image of her daughter Zara Tindall when she was a young girl, in a rare photograph showing the late Queen Elizabeth II’s child during an outing in 1963. In an unearthed snapshot of the young royal, Anne, now 75 years old, was spotted sitting in the royal box at Wimbledon with Prince Michael of Kent and his mother, Princess Marina.  The picture was taken in black and white, and the only daughter of the late Queen was dressed in a collared garment and sported a thick headband for the afternoon of tennis.  She wore a happy expression on her face as she clapped for the players on the court below, much like her companion on the day, her first cousin once removed, Michael.  Facially, she looked strikingly similar to her own daughter, Zara, now 45, who is one of Anne’s two children she shares with her ex-husband, Captain Mark Phillips.  Anne is also a mum to Zara’s older brother, Peter Phillips, 48, whom she welcomed with Mark before the couple divorced …

Princess Anne Wears Her Famous Stalactite Brooch to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party

It’s a piece of jewelry that is clearly linked to a fundamental moment in the princess’s existence—and it is precisely here that the more unconventional side of Princess Anne emerges. The royal, although she knows very well how every detail, element, and choice will be scrutinized for hidden messages and meanings, attached the famous brooch to her coat then went on her way. Princess Anne with the Queen Mother, 1980. Tim Graham/Getty Images This week was just one example of her decision not to let the jewels remain locked in her jewelry box after the end of her marriage to Phillips. In fact, the king’s sister has worn it many times over the years—from official banquets to Royal Ascot competitions to last year’s Commonwealth Day celebrations—demonstrating that the person who gave it to her has far more value than the occasion for which she received it. Definitely a nice way to remember a mother who is no longer there, and to release herself from the association with that long-ago wedding day. Princess Anne, Commonwealth Day …
