For years, the U.S. wholesale store’s bakery has sold its Kirkland Signature bagels in two packs of six for $5.99. Many customers have complained about this rule, as it meant they had no choice but to buy 12 bagels, many of which went to waste. However, Costco members have noticed that some shops now offer a single bag of eight bagels for $4.99. The Costco Buys Instagram account, which posts tips for shopping at the retailer, shared a video last month of the new bagel pack at their local stores. “They’re water boiled for that perfect chewy texture, and you no longer …

Tesco Clubcard shoppers can triple voucher value at over 800 locations | UK | News

Tesco Clubcard shoppers can triple voucher value at over 800 locations | UK | News

Tesco Clubcard shoppers can triple the value of their hard earned points at more than 800 locations across the UK. Normally, Clubcard points are worth 1p each, so 100 points is equal to a £1 spend in-store or online. But it’s possible to double the value of these points by exchanging them for vouchers to spend at more than 100 of Tesco’s Reward partners. When points are exchanged with a Reward Partner, one point is worth 2p instead of 1p, so 100 points would give you £2 to spend – double the amount than if you simply used your points in Tesco supermarkets. But it’s possible for shoppers to make their points go even further and get triple the value with a select few Reward Partners. At the major restaurant chains, which include Frankie & Benny’s, PizzaExpress, Zizzi and ASK Italian, every 50p will give you £1.50 to spend when dining in, allowing you to triple your voucher value. So if you have £5 worth of Clubcard vouchers, these will be worth £15 to spend …

OLED banding is worse than burn-in, and most TV shoppers have no idea it exists

OLED banding is worse than burn-in, and most TV shoppers have no idea it exists

I worry way too much about display defects on modern TVs. Up until recently, I was terrified of OLED burn-in until I found these 3 settings. Y’know what has troubled me even more since I picked up my first “Organic Light Emitting Diode” screen back in 2015? OLED banding. Unless you’re a massive AV-obsessed nerd like myself, you may not know what banding actually is. In short, it typically manifests as a series of thin vertical lines across a screen (though they can also appear horizontally). It’s a subtle issue that, once you notice it, though, can prove incredibly tough to unsee. Let me explain exactly what display banding is, and provide tips on how to alleviate this issue. Related Don’t buy a cheap OLED TV before checking these 5 specific specs It might not be worth it without them. What is OLED banding? A shopper’s guide for prescription drugs : NPR

A shopper’s guide for prescription drugs : NPR

When TrumpRx launched in February, it joined a chorus of websites claiming to have deals on prescription drugs. Despite the hype, many of the medicines on TrumpRx include brand-name drugs that patients can find cheaper elsewhere — as generics. For instance, Protonix for heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease is available for $200 on TrumpRx. But the generic version, called pantoprazole, cost less than $30 with a coupon from GoodRx, another drug discount website. And depending on the health plan, using insurance could mean a $5 or $0 copay. So with sites like TrumpRx, GoodRx, Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs and a dizzying list of patient assistance, copay cards and even cash options from the drug companies themselves, what can you do to make sure you’re getting the best deal on your prescription? Well, there are no shortcuts, and it’s going to take a little work to figure it out. “I’m not sure that all of the options make things better,” says Ben Rome, an internist and drug policy researcher at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in …

USPS 8% Surcharge Could Hit Small Businesses and Shoppers Alike

USPS 8% Surcharge Could Hit Small Businesses and Shoppers Alike

It’s about to cost more to ship packages through the United States Postal Service. The USPS said Wednesday that it will implement a temporary 8% surcharge beginning in April “to better align its costs of transportation with the market.” Like everyone, the post office is facing higher fuel costs driven by ongoing turmoil in the Middle East. The proposed increase will affect Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage and Parcel Select, but not first-class stamps and other products and services. If the Postal Regulatory Commission approves the measure, the price change will begin on April 26 at midnight Central Time and expire on Jan. 17, 2027, at midnight Central Time. At that time, the USPS will assess if the surcharge will continue. Last week, Postmaster General David Steiner told Congress that the USPS will run out of money by next February. He requested that Congress lift regulatory restrictions so that the postal service can raise prices on products and services.  The Postal Service has been financially underwater for nearly two decades. The Government Accountability Office added …

Why shoppers are stealing ‘posh eggs’ – supermarket prices, Clarence Court and the premium egg myth

Sign up to IndyEat’s free newsletter for weekly recipes, foodie features and cookbook releases Get our food and drink newsletter for free Get our food and drink newsletter for free Eggs, for most of modern supermarket history, have occupied the same mental category as salt or bin bags – things you buy absent-mindedly, rarely linger over and almost never covet. Which makes the recent reports of shoppers discreetly transferring “posh” eggs into cheaper cartons less a petty crime story than a curious cultural shift. Somewhere between the rise of heritage breeds, rich yolks and artfully pastoral packaging, the humble egg appears to have undergone an unexpected promotion: from kitchen staple to small, brown status symbol. They’re not the only ones. Salt used to be just salt. Now it’s Maldon, Himalayan or something smoked and hand-harvested from a Scandinavian fjord. Olive oil is the same: Waitrose stocks no fewer than 73 different bottles online (I counted). Oil from Italy, Spain, Greece, infused with chilli, garlic, basil, in plastic, tins, pouches and sprays. It’s no longer just …

Tariffs cost American shoppers. They’re unlikely to get that money back : NPR

Tariffs cost American shoppers. They’re unlikely to get that money back : NPR

People walk by a shopping mall along the Las Vegas Strip on April 8, 2025. John Locher/AP hide caption toggle caption John Locher/AP American businesses and shoppers paid the vast majority of the billions of dollars collected for the emergency tariffs that the Supreme Court recently ruled illegal. Companies are now pushing to get their money back. But can shoppers expect their own refund? Probably not, according to Robert Shapiro, an international trade lawyer and partner at the law firm Thompson Coburn. “And if you do, it’ll be pennies on the dollar,” Shapiro said. The roughly $180 billion collected under the struck-down tariffs, according to an estimate by Goldman Sachs, was typically paid for directly by businesses, and indirectly by consumers through higher prices. Because those companies often paid the actual customs bill, any refund from the federal government would go to them. Shoppers will have to wait for companies to get their refunds before any potential reimbursements might trickle down to them. And that could take a while. President Trump suggested the question of …

The breakfast staple — which was first made available to the public in 1946 — was meant to provide convenience for households that did not want to spend hours squeezing fresh oranges and instead dropped the frozen can into a pitcher of water for drinking. However, Minute Maid recently announced all of its frozen juices, including lemonade and limeade, would be discontinued in April to prioritize its line of fresh juices. “We are discontinuing our frozen products and exiting the frozen can category in response to shifting consumer preferences,” The Coca-Cola Co., which …
