John Davidson Intends To ‘Apologise Directly’ To Sinners Actors After N-Word Tic

On Sunday night, John attended the awards show with the cast and crew of I Swear, the award-winning drama inspired by his life story. During the BBC’s coverage of the Baftas, he was heard experiencing an involuntary tic while Sinners stars Delroy Lindo and Michael B Jordan presented an award from the stage, resulting in him shouting the N-word. On Tuesday evening, Variety said that John’s team had confirmed to them that he has reached out to Sinners’ production company to “directly apologise” to the actors, as well as production designer Hannah Beachler, who shared after the event that he had used the same slur while experiencing an involuntary tic in her presence. Delroy Lindo Calls Out How Bafta Handled N-Word Tic Incident

Sinners actor Delroy Lindo has admitted he’s disappointed with the way Bafta reacted to an incident he found himself at the centre of during this year’s ceremony. On Sunday night, Delroy and Michael B Jordan – who had both been nominated for Baftas off the back of their performances in Sinners – presented the first award of the ceremony, for Best Visual Effects. During their introductory speech, Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson experienced an involuntary tic and shouted the N-word from the auditorium. John had been attending the Baftas with the cast and crew of I Swear, a film based on his life story. After the slur was shouted, the two briefly paused before continuing to present, with host Alan Cumming first thanking the audience for their “understanding” and later apologising to anyone “if you are offended tonight”. Speaking to Vanity Fair after the event, Delroy said that he and Michael “did what we had to do” by carrying on with the night’s proceedings. However, he said he wished “someone from Bafta spoke to us afterwards”. …

Baftas Host Apologises After Guest With Tourette’s Has N-Word Tic

Baftas host Alan Cumming issued an apology during Sunday night’s ceremony after a guest with Tourette’s syndrome experienced a number of tics – including shouting expletives and a racial slur – from the audience of this year’s event. In the run-up to the 2026 Baftas, the British movie I Swear, which was inspired by the life of Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson, scored five nominations, including Outstanding British Film and acting nods for cast members Robert Aramayo and Peter Mullan. John joined the film’s cast and crew at this year’s ceremony, with Variety reporting that the floor manager had told guests before the proceedings began that they “might hear some involuntary noises or movements during the ceremony”. The first award of the night to be handed out was Best Special Visual Effects, presented by Sinners stars Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo. As the two actors introduced the award, John experienced a tic that led him to shouting the N-word from the audience, a moment which made it into the BBC’s broadcast of the Baftas, airing …

‘Sinners’ Star Miles Caton Is Proof That Dreams Can Become a Reality

‘Sinners’ Star Miles Caton Is Proof That Dreams Can Become a Reality

Miles Caton went reaching for the stars and found more than he could have ever imagined. Coming off of H.E.R.’s tour as a background vocalist in 2022, the 20-year-old actor-singer decided to shoot his shot and audition for filmmaker Ryan Coogler then-mystery project. But little did he know at the time that his quick video audition would turn into the role of a lifetime. Caton scored his breakout role as Sammie Moore, starring oppositie Michael B. Jordan, in Sinners, which now holds the record for the most Oscar nominations of all time. As he looks back on the whirlwind of the past year, he tells The Hollywood Reporter that he’s truly “proud of the growth” he’s seen within himself. “It is crazy because almost similar to Sammie’s in the way of, he had this idea of what he wanted and where he wanted to go, but he didn’t have any experience or any other knowledge that could really help him figure out what that actual looks like, and that’s kind of how I entered this …

‘Sinners’ Star Michael B. Jordan on Therapy, Toxic Masculinity, and Growing Pains With ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’

In the span of three days, Michael B. Jordan celebrated his 39th birthday, had a Super Bowl party with his family (including some postgame karaoke), and attended the Oscars 2026 nominees luncheon as a first-time nominee. “When did too much celebrating become a thing?” Jordan tells Little Gold Men with a smirk. “I’ve been so blessed and fortunate to have so many things going on—and successful things at that.” Jordan has so much to celebrate, earning his first Oscar nomination for playing twins Smoke and Stack in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. The film earned a history-making 16 Oscar nominations, along with being a box office smash, and much of its success is due to Jordan’s delicate and dynamic work as two wholly unique characters. Sinners is a culmination of the career-spanning collaboration between Jordan and Coogler, who first worked together on 2013’s Fruitvale Station, followed by Creed (2015), Black Panther (2018), and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022). Their partnership has resulted in the most demanding work of Jordan’s long career, which started when he was just …

It’s ‘Dystopian’ to Celebrate Oscar Nom After ICE Killings

It’s ‘Dystopian’ to Celebrate Oscar Nom After ICE Killings

Wunmi Mosaku says it feels “truly dystopian” to celebrate her best supporting actress Oscar nomination after people were killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. The Sinners actress, who became a first-time nominee last month for her role as Annie in the Ryan Coogler-directed film, recently spoke during an interview with the Times of London about the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of ICE agents last month. “I’ve not been able to celebrate because of what’s going on right now, with the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by ICE agents in Minnesota and the kidnapping of a five-year-old boy,” Mosaku said. “It’s difficult to hold both the nomination and the news because one feels beautiful and one is so dark and heavy; truly dystopian — how can I possibly go out and buy some drinks and enjoy the moment?” She added that her husband “is not as shocked as I am at the news. There’s a very strange American psyche where terrible things happen and people still can …
