Great British Bake Off 2026 unveils first look as Nigella Lawson joins

A first look image has been revealed for The Great British Bake Off, giving us our first glimpse of the new-look presenting team including Nigella Lawson. Lawson joins the show as a judge, replacing Prue Leith whose departure from the show was announced at the start of the year. She will be joining returning judge Paul Hollywood, and returning presenters Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding. The first look image, which was taken on the very first day of filming and Lawson’s first ever day in the Bake Off tent, shows the four of them against a pink backdrop, and can be seen below. Alongside the release of the image by Channel 4 and production company Love Productions, it has been confirmed that filming has now been completed, and that the show will return next month, in September. Reform UK Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick (Image: Getty) Reform UK would cut £50 billion from the welfare bill if the party wins power, Robert Jenrick has said. Reform’s Treasury spokesman, who will set out the plans at a press conference tomorrow, described it as the biggest shake-up of the welfare state in a generation. Under the proposals, personal independence payments (Pip) and the health element of Universal Credit for working-age adults would be ditched. Almost three million people seeing disability and sickness payments would have them removed or changed. Writing in The Telegraph, Mr Jenrick said: “We will not pretend this is painless. Existing claimants will be reassessed over three to four years: we estimate that 2.16 million will keep their present cash entitlement in full, while 2.89 million will see theirs modified or withdrawn, concentrated where recent growth has been most explosive.” He said the state must be there to support people who need it but “dumping our young people onto welfare isn’t compassion; it’s neglect”. Marvel Studios debuted the first trailer for its Disney+ series VisionQuest at D23 in Anaheim, California, offering the clearest look yet at Paul Bettany’s return as the sentient AI hero Vision. SEE ALSO: Marvel unveils X-Men cast: Adam Driver, Inde Navarrette, and more set for May 2028 film The trailer finds Vision living in hiding and grappling with an existential crisis after essentially being resurrected in WandaVision. As part of his search for answers, Vision converses with several other artificial intelligences drawn from his own programming, including FRIDAY (Orla Bradley), DUM-E (Henry Lewis), JARVIS (James D’Arcy), and Ultron (James Spader). Much of Ultron is shown in human form in the footage, and the other Tony Stark-created AIs appear less than thrilled to have him around. An understandable reaction, given that Ultron nearly wiped out humanity in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Richard Armitage’s new drama Winter unveils first look and teases “dangerous pursuit”

ITV has released information, details and images for some of its upcoming dramas throughout the rest of 2026, and amongst those was a first look at Richard Armitage’s new series, Winter. The six-part drama, which will be releasing later in the year, sees Armitage playing a brilliant but unconventional forensic pathologist, Dr Ethan Winter, who can be seen in the first look image (above). The Red Eye star is joined in the image and the series by Annabel Scholey (Rivals), who plays DI Lauren Bell, a detective who teams up with Ethan. Doctor Doom finally gets his closeup in the latest Avengers: Doomsday trailer. Robert Downey Jr.’s villain is front and center in the new look of the film, which returns the actor to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time since Avengers: Endgame. It’s the same look that was shown at San Diego Comic-Con last month, but is now available to the public as of Friday night, where it also screened at D23. Filming has wrapped on Call the Midwife: Sisters in Arms – and the BBC has marked the occasion with a first look at the cast of its three-part World War II prequel, coming to BBC One and iPlayer this Christmas. The newly released pictures show Julie Hesmondhalgh, Helena Wilson, Ellie McKay, Liv Andrusier and Lizzie Back – seen for the first time on set – with the actors posing alongside a clapperboard. Created, written and executive produced by Heidi Thomas, the special takes the long-running BBC drama back to Poplar in 1939, following younger versions of familiar Nonnatus House figures alongside a new team of midwives.
