The Wire‘s Bobby J Brown has died at 62. Per TMZ, Bobby tragically died in a fire after entering a barn to jump-start a vehicle on Tuesday, February 24. In recent years, two other of Bobby’s co-stars, Isaiah Whitlock Jr. and James Ransone, have died as well. “Bobby J. Brown was a man of immense talent and incredible discipline,” the former professional boxer’s agent, Albert Bramante, told HELLO!. “He was a true professional and an even better human being. We are heartbroken by this loss and ask that the family’s privacy be respected at this time.” Bobby was best known for portraying Officer Bobby Brown on HBO’s acclaimed drama, The Wire. The 31-year-old actor slowly fell “in love with movies and the idea of the process of making films” growing up while watching his parents, who worked as a 1st AD and sound recordist. After grinding for 10 years and studying drama in college, Montgomery eventually landed his breakout role as Billy in Stranger Things in 2017. Isiah Whitlock Jr., who was best known for his role on The Wire, has died aged 71. “It is with tremendous sadness that I share the passing of my dear friend and client Isiah Whitlock Jr.,” his manager said in a statement. “If you knew him – you loved him”. Whitlock Jr. portrayed openly corrupt city councilman Clay Davis on 25 episodes over five seasons of The Wire from 2002 to 2008. The fan-favourite character was known for his trademark expression – “sheee-it” -, which was first delivered on the show in 2002. The profanity inspired the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum to release a 20th Anniversary Edition Isiah Whitlock Jr. Talking Bobblehead in 2022. Isiah Whitlock Jr., the character actor best known for his scene-stealing performances on The Wire and in several films directed by Spike Lee, has died at the age of 71. Isiah Whitlock Jr., the actor who portrayed State Senator Clayton “Clay” Davis on HBO’s The Wire, has died. He was 71. Whitlock’s manager, Brian Liebman, announced his death Tuesday on Instagram. “It is with tremendous sadness that I share the passing of my dear friend and client Isiah Whitlock Jr. If you knew him – you loved him,” Liebman wrote. “A brilliant actor and even better person. May his memory forever be a blessing. Our hearts are so broken. He will be very, very missed.” Born in Indiana in 1954, Whitlock began studying theater at Southwest Minnesota State University. Following his 1976 graduation, he attended San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater and earned his first onscreen credit in the 1981 TV movie A Christmas Carol. Whitlock went on to appear in several projects led by Spike Lee, including 25th Hour, She Hate Me, Red Hook Summer, Chi-Raq, BlacKkKlansman and Da 5 Bloods.
