Countryfile caught in channel shake-up due to Winter Olympics

Countryfile caught in channel shake-up due to Winter Olympics

With Winter Olympics coverage continuing to dominate the TV schedules this weekend, Countryfile is set to air its weekly episode on a different channel than usual tomorrow (Sunday 15 February).

The long-running nature series will still air in its regular 6pm slot but will be moving to BBC Two, rather than broadcasting on its usual home of BBC One.

The rest of the previously billed schedule will remain unchanged, with Winter Olympics coverage moving to BBC Two at 7pm and MasterChef: The Professionals airing from that time on BBC One.

This week’s episode of Countryfile will see hosts Datshiane Navanayagam and Hamza Yassin travel to Milford Haven in Pembrokeshire, 30 years after the area was hit by the infamous MV Sea Empress oil spill in 1996.

According to the official synopsis, they will “speak to those who led the emergency response and find out how the wildlife and environment have recovered from the disaster.”

Meanwhile, there will be plenty of Olympic action to enjoy over the course of the weekend, with several medals up for grabs as Team GB look to add to the one gold won by Matt Weston in the skeleton.

Clare Balding will be fronting the Sunday evening coverage from Milan and Cortina, with curling and figure skating among the sports viewers can expect to find on the schedule.

I studied medicine in Brighton and qualified as a doctor and for the last 2 years been writing blogs. While there are are many excellent blogs devoted to the topics of faith, humanism, atheism, political viewpoints, and wider kinds of rationalism and philosophical doubt, those are not the only focus here.Im going to blog about what ever comes to my mind in a day.
