A viral German influencer who goes by the name Freddy has received a luxurious welcome to America during his road trip across the country for the 2026 Fifa World Cup tournament.
The X user, who goes by the name @FreddyLA7 and keeps his face hidden, has been traveling to different parts of the U.S. for the first time to support his home nation during the soccer event.
The European content creator — who has 638,100 followers on X and a photo of Cristiano Ronaldo as his profile picture — recently went viral with his hilarious and enthusiastic reactions to trying staple spots in America during his trip, including visits to Taco Bell, Waffle House and Buc-ee’s.
Since sharing the clips, his American vacation has been nothing short of fabulous, with celebrities and food brands now sending him more than he could imagine.
For example, when he arrived in Houston, Texas, on Sunday for a match between Germany and Curaçao, he learned that former NFL star J.J. Watt was paying for his stay at a stunning hotel.

“Our room for the coming days in Houston. I don’t even know what to say about this. This is just unreal. No words,” he wrote in the caption of a clip, showcasing his massive room with two queen-sized beds and tons of World Cup-themed merch. “Huge huge thank you to JJ Watt for giving me and my friends the opportunity to stay at a place like this.”
According to the Houston Chronicle, Freddy’s room was located in the premier Post Oak Hotel, which is owned by businessman Tilman Fertitta, who also owns the NBA team the Houston Rockets. Prices at the hotel range from $500 to up to $125,000 per night, depending on the room type.
In a follow-up X post, Freddy revealed that when the game ended Sunday night, he discovered that his hotel room was fully stocked. He shared a picture of the mini tequila bottles, massive fruit bowl and brown and white soccer ball on his table.
He was also gifted a red jersey, a yellow sweatshirt and multiple caps from the Rockets.
“This is all so insane. We found this when we got back to our room. And then someone even sent cupcakes to our room. I genuinely don’t understand how it got to this point. We’re just normal World Cup tourists.”
During his road trip to Houston last week, he said he was listening to music by country singer Ella Langley and called her his “best discovery” during his travels through America.
“We had never heard of her before, but after hearing her on pretty much every country radio station, we’ve become big fans. She’s basically the soundtrack of our trip,” he wrote.
Langley later responded to his tweet, telling him that she had messaged him. And only two days later, Freddy was in for a special treat. “WE’RE GOING TO AN ELLA LANGLEY CONCERT ON THE 18TH AND WE’RE EVEN GOING TO MEET HER!!!!” he wrote.
At the start of his road trip through the U.S. earlier this month, Freddy shared how thrilled he was to try some beloved fast food spots. Aside from calling Taco Bell “the holy land,” he shared a picture of his chicken and fries platter from Raising Cane’s and wrote, “lives were changed.”
The soccer fan was undeniably impressed by Waffle House, writing on X about his 1 a.m. visit: “Great food, great prices, and friendly staff. 10/10, we will be coming back.”
