Barbara Alyn Woods is known for her roles in television series One Tree Hill and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, but she’s also the matriarch of an acting dynasty, raising the next generation of actors in her daughters Natalie Alyn Lind, Emily Alyn Lind, and Alyvia Alyn Lind.
Barbara has been acting professionally since the 1980s, starring alongside Demi Moore in 1996’s Striptease, as the mom Diane Szalinski in TV series Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and as Deb Scott on teen drama series One Tree Hill. She married assistant director John Lind, whom she met on the set of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, in 1999, and they welcomed their three girls between 2000 and 2007; Barbara and John divorced in 2021.
“Our family is very female-centric – we even have female dogs,” Barbara told HELLO! at the 2026 Gracie Awards, where she was joined by Natalie and Alyvia. “I’ve been to the Gracie Awards several times without them, and this is the first time I’m here with them and it’s so perfect for us to be celebrating this,” she added. “I’m so proud of them.”
The Gracie Awards are presented annually by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation to celebrate and honor programming created by, for, and about women, and Natalie shares that the three Lind women wanted to attend to “bring awareness and show the creativity and the emotional capabilities that women have to give.”

“I think it’s important for us to be here because there has been a lack of representation of powerful females in very important positions,” shared Natalie. “For us, my mom is an actress, we were raised by her, and we have been so lucky with the roles that we’ve been able to portray.”
Natalie made her television debut in One Tree Hill as a young girl, and went on to have a recurring role as Dana Caldwell in the ABC series The Goldbergs, and guest roles in Criminal Minds, iCarly, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Flashpoint.
In 2015, at the age of 15, Natalie joined the second season of Gotham as Silver St. Cloud, a Gotham City socialite and event planner. The experience led her to the Fox pilot The Gifted, based on Marvel Comics’ X-Men and set in an alternate timeline where the X-Men have disappeared. She starred in two seasons.
In October 2025, Natalie was announced alongside Marc Menchaca, Juan Pablo Raba, and JR Villarreal as series regulars in the Yellowstone spin-off Dutton Ranch.
Natalie stars as Oreana, the granddaughter of Annette Bening’s scheming Beulah Jackson, the affluent owner of 10 Petal Ranch and the matriarch of the Jackson Family. Oreana has also been revealed as Kelly Dutton and Rip Wheeler’s son, Carter’s love interest, bringing these two families closer together – for better or worse.
Emily Alyn Lind
Emily, 24, was born in Brooklyn in 2022 and made her debut at the age of six in The Secret Life of Bees. Whilst attending school, Emily kept her passion for acting alive with recurring roles as young Amanda Clarke in Revenge, appearing in TV shows Medium, Flashpoint, Criminal Minds, Suburgatory, and Hawaii Five-0, and playing Emma Lavery in the soap opera All My Children.
At the age of 15, Emily joined the Netflix family in comedy horror film The Babysitter and the sequel, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, but it was at the age of 18 that she got her big break, starring in HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl.
Emily has now found her niche in the YA space, and is currently filming season two of We Were Liars, Prime Video’s psychological thriller in which she plays the lead, Cady Sinclair Eastman, who suffers from memory loss after an accident and is one of the titular Liars.
Alyvia Alyn Lind Â
“Everything that we’ve learned and everything that we know comes from her,” Alyvia said of Barbara, 64.
“She has been such an incredible guiding light through the industry. Nobody else in her family was an actor, so she went through all of it on her own but was able to pass down all of her wisdom to us, and we’re just so incredibly grateful that we’ve had that.”
Alyvia, born 27 July 2007, also began acting at the age of six in the 2013 film Dark Skies.Â
For 10 years, she starred in The Young and the Restless as Faith Newman, as well as working alongside her sister Emily as a young Amanda Clarke in TV series Revenge.
In 2015, Alyvia starred alongside Dolly Parton, playing a younger version of the iconic singer in the TV films Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors, and Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.
“Dolly was the most amazing mentor to have at that age and to look up to, and is such a powerful businesswoman and has a very maternal vibe to her,” Alyvia told HELLO!
“She really took me under her wing and would lick her finger and get stuff off my face and would ask me to play her songs that I wrote when I was like seven-years-old, and so it was the most incredible experience.”
From 2021 to 2024, Alyvia appeared in the horror series Chucky alongside The Pitt‘s Fiona Dourif and her mom Barbara, and in 2025 took on her first lead role as Leila, a student who joins forces with local police officer Alex (Mae Martin) to unearth the town’s dark and deeply rooted secrets in the Netflix limited series Wayward.
Wayward won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, garnered seven Canadian Screen Award nominations, and received an Emmys awards push from Netflix.
