Jamie Lynn Spears can’t quite believe how fast time is going by!
The Zoe 101 actress was feeling all the emotions as she reflected on her oldest daughter Maddie’s upcoming high school graduation.
Britney Spears’ younger sister shared a series of stunning pictures ahead of the big day, including Maddie’s graduation invite – which featured a picture of the teen posing in a polka dot prom dress while posing in a field.
Other pictures included Maddie looking grown up dressed in a black mini dress and heels, and another of the 17-year-old dressed in a white mini dress.
In the caption, the doting mom wrote: “Welp….the grad invites are sent, the cap and gown arrived, and the last regular day of school is here….I guess the lovely state of denial that I forced myself to be in has to end, bc the reality of time is coming at me like a freight train.”
Reflecting on the emotional rollercoaster of parenthood, Jamie Lynn continued: “I know the saying ‘the days are long, but the years are short’ is one of the most cliche sayings, bc it’s said so much, but I now know that cliches are only said so much bc they continue to ring true in every lifetime throughout the test of time.
Maybe, people only hate cliches, bc they are the undeniable, unavoidable truth hitting us right in the face, and if you’re fortunate enough, kids growing up is one of those few guarantees in life.
“Unlike some other guarantees in life (taxes & death), having the privilege of watching your children grow up is one of the most beautiful & fulfilling things we can experience as humans, and I am so grateful for each every up & down moment throughout the journey of motherhood this far. It’s bittersweet, bc you’re so proud of everything they have accomplished this far, and so excited to watch everything that their future will bring, while also longing for them to stay your baby forever.”
As she reflected on her relationship with her daughter, the star ended her post by writing: “I know I’m one of luckiest mama’s in the world, so I’ll stop my rambling now, until I completely lose it on graduation day.
“I’ll leave ya with another cliche, go love on your babies, and really REALLY try to be present, no matter what else is going on in your professional or personal life, bc you will NEVER regret spending time with your kids. Also, it’s all about the little things, like today, I had a scoop of coffee ice cream for breakfast, I’ll probably have it for lunch too, bc tears & ice cream is an unbeatable duo.”
Jamie Lynn shares Maddie with ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge, and is also mom to daughter Ivey, eight, who she shares with husband Jamie Watson.
