Police have launched a probe into “an altercation” near a school and nursery in Nottingham. Officers were called to Hillington Rise near Glade Hill Primary and Nursery School at around 3pm on January 30. They said a man in his 20s, who was unharmed, was chased by two men “charrying knives”.

Nottinghamshire Police said they are taking the incident “extremely seriously” as they released images of the men they wish to speak to as part of their investigation. A team of detectives have made a number of inquiries to trace those responsible and would like to speak to the men in these images, the force said.

They also urged any witnesses or people with footage of the incident, and the moments leading up to it, to come forward.

Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are treating this matter extremely seriously and our investigation is progressing at speed.

“It is vital we trace the two men in these images as we believe they will be able to assist our inquiries.

“We appreciate their faces are partially covered but we are hopeful someone might recognise them from their clothing.
