Jennifer Lopez’s child debuts name change at high school graduation – with support from Ben Affleck’s son

Jennifer Lopez’s eldest child, Emme Maribel Muñiz, graduated from high school on May 28. Emme’s father, Marc Anthony, was seemingly absent from the celebration, with the 18-year-old supported by their mom, twin brother Max, and former stepbrother, Samuel Affleck. It also appears that Emme graduated with a new name. In a March post shared by an Instagram account that tracks the college decisions of graduating Windward seniors, Jennifer’s kid was named as Oskar Muñiz and revealed that they plan to begin college to study theater and studio arts this fall. The post featured a childhood photo of Emme alongside their new name and future college logo. “Oskar to Sarah Lawrence! No more impromptu NYC trips because he’ll be living there! Good thing it’s only a few hours away from Stagedoor. Go gryphons!! Congrats!!!” read the caption.  © WireImageMax Muniz, Emme Muniz and Jennifer Lopez The post was liked by Jennifer Garner, who was previously married to the singer’s ex-husband, Ben Affleck. 10 Steps to Get Unstuck and Make That Needed Change

10 Steps to Get Unstuck and Make That Needed Change

Feeling stuck and out of control over a situation is a lousy and often painful feeling. Depending on the situation, you may feel annoyed, completely overwhelmed, or somewhere in between. For those of us who grew up in chaotic and/or dysfunctional households, the current feeling may mimic the lack of control we felt as children. This lack of control state can render us frozen and be a roadblock to making necessary life changes. Perhaps you feel stuck in a job or a relationship that’s going nowhere but are nervous about making a large change. In the case of a job, there are practical aspects such as the necessity of an income to pay your bills; whereas with a relationship, there are emotional issues such as concerns over hurting the current partner’s feelings. Perhaps it is a feeling of being stuck in a country in which atrocities appear to be worsening. These are all valid concerns and should be taken into consideration. Thus, we need to ask ourselves if our current situation is wrong for us …

5 Windows settings you can only change in the Registry

5 Windows settings you can only change in the Registry

Windows gives you a Settings app, a Control Panel, and plenty of toggles to play with. But a few of the tweaks aren’t in any of those places. They live in the registry, and unless you’re comfortable opening regedit, you’ll never touch them. I open it after every fresh install, and at this point, I know exactly which keys to change and why. If you’re on Windows Pro or Education, some of these can also be done through Group Policy Editor. But on Home, the Registry is your only option. Windows 11 replaced the full right-click menu with a shorter, simplified version that tucks many useful options out of sight. If you want the complete context menu, you have to click “Show more options” every single time. You can also hold Shift while right-clicking to skip that screen, but that’s an extra step on every interaction rather than a real fix. To make the classic menu permanent, open Registry Editor and do the following: Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID. Right-click on the CLSID key, select New > …

Crown Prince Haakon forced to make change to schedule after receiving worrying Mette-Marit health news

Crown Prince Haakon is cutting short his trip to Japan next week over the health of his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who he said earlier this week was “seriously ill”. A statement from the Palace read: “His Royal Highness the Crown Prince is shortening his official trip to Japan by one day due to the health situation of Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess.” The heir to the Norwegian throne was due to be hosted by Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako. While his visit will still include a trip to Tokyo, alongside a state dinner, his visit to Hachinohe has now been called off. Earlier this week, Haakon gave an update on his wife, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis back in 2018. Speaking to local media, he said: “The Crown Princess is seriously ill, and I think she has gotten a bit worse lately. So I am worried about her health. WATCH: Meet the Norwegian royal family “She uses oxygen in her everyday life, and that helps a bit. And these six months have …

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son Maddox to officially change surname

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son Maddox to officially change surname

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, is set to formally change his surname. On Thursday, editors at TMZ reported that the 24-year-old had filed paperwork to legally drop “Pitt” from his name. According to the outlet, Maddox wants to be known as “Maddox Chivan Jolie” going forward. It’s unclear how long a ruling on the request will take. Angelina adopted Maddox from an orphanage in Cambodia when he was seven months old in March 2002, and three years later, also adopted daughter Zahara, 21, from Ethiopia. But when Angelina and Brad started a relationship, the F1 actor announced his intention to adopt her two children and filed paperwork to switch their surnames to “Jolie-Pitt”, which was granted in early 2006. The former couple also adopted son Pax Thien, 22, in 2007 and are parents to three biological children: Shiloh, 20, and 17-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne. However, Angelina and Brad separated in 2016 after two years of marriage, with the Maleficent star citing “irreconcilable differences” in the divorce filing. They were each declared legally …

Microplastics may be weakening the ocean’s ability to fight climate change

Microplastics may be weakening the ocean’s ability to fight climate change

The ocean works quietly every day to protect life on Earth. It absorbs heat from the atmosphere, stores massive amounts of carbon dioxide and produces much of the oxygen humans breathe. Much of that work depends on organisms so small they cannot be seen with the naked eye. These microscopic marine algae, called phytoplankton, drift near the ocean’s sunlit surface. Despite their tiny size, they carry out nearly half of all photosynthesis on Earth. They absorb carbon dioxide, use sunlight for energy and help move carbon deep into the ocean through a process known as carbon sequestration. Tiny plastic fragments have spread across nearly every marine environment, from crowded coastlines to remote Arctic waters. Scientists already knew these particles could harm marine life. The new research suggests they may also weaken the ocean’s ability to absorb carbon from the atmosphere. The researchers found that the impact of plastic on CO2 uptake was greatest in dry and tropical climate regions. These regions are particularly vulnerable to microplastic pollution. Emma Thompson calls for change after new study finds more hit films star a man called Chris than a woman over 60

Emma Thompson calls for change after new study finds more hit films star a man called Chris than a woman over 60

Emma Thompson has called out filmmakers following a damning study on the industry’s portrayal of women over the age of 60. A campaign by The Age Without Limits has found that just five of the 100 highest-grossing films of the past three years have starred a woman older than 60. In comparison, there were five led by an actor named Chris: Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (2023), The Super Mario Bros Movie (2026) and The Garfield Movie (2024); Chris Pine in Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves (2023) and Chris Hemsworth in Transformers One (2024). Films were also four times more likely to feature a talking animal as its lead than an older woman. The female-led films that did feature in the research were Allelujah (Jennifer Saunders), My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (Nia Vardalos), Book Club: The Next Chapter (Diane Keaton), The Substance (Demi Moore), and Freakier Friday (Jamie Lee Curtis). Responding to the findings, Thompson, 67, called on directors to be more representative of audiences. “Women are half the …

Xreal’s New Budget Display Glasses Can Change Their Look on the Fly

Xreal’s New Budget Display Glasses Can Change Their Look on the Fly

Xreal makes some of my favorite display glasses around, functioning as wearable USB-C tethered monitors in glasses form. Xreal’s new budget pair of $299 display glasses, called a01, is part of a new sub-brand called X by Xreal. They’re significantly less expensive than Xreal’s other glasses and have some clever features their other glasses lack. For the most part, the a01 glasses are more feature-limited compared with the Xreal One Pro and 1S. They have a slightly smaller field of view (50 degrees) and lack the dimming lens and chipset that can pin a display in place. But they also offer notable advantages. The 1,600-nit brightness of these micro OLED displays is far higher than that of previous Xreal glasses, and I’m curious to compare them. They also support HDR10 for video, which TCL’s recent RayNeo Air 4 Pro glasses also have. The glasses are also pretty light, at 62 grams. The front faceplates can swap out, giving different looks. Xreal What interests me most is a new “anti shake” mode that promises more stable …

Ian McEwan says pessimism ‘a bigger problem than climate change’ | Hay festival

Pessimism is probably “a bigger problem than climate change”, said the novelist Ian McEwan on Monday afternoon, as temperatures broke May records in the UK. McEwan “constantly” hears people say that they don’t “expect their children to have as good a life as they did”, but suggested that optimism is a “moral duty”. McEwan’s latest book, What We Can Know, is partly set in 2119, in a Britain submerged by seas. He spoke at the Hay festival on a panel alongside the former NFU president Minette Batters and Sandi Toksvig, on a day that saw temperatures in London reach 34.8C, beating a May record set in 1922. McEwan went on to say that optimism is an “exercise in rationality”, because it’s “quite possible” – given that “the world is big, cultures are diverse” – that “there could be a revolution happening and we don’t even know about it”. He referred to the “historical moment” in 2020 when electricity generated from renewable sources outpaced that generated from gas and coal plants in the UK. “We were …
