Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) has been placed in a horrific situation in Coronation Street.
If being banged up in Norcross nick for murdering Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) wasn’t bad enough, she now has a fellow prisoner baying for her blood.
Earlier this week, fearsome Kacey (Emma Matthews) asked a huge favour from Sarah in exchange for protection from other inmates. She revealed that her son had been arrested for armed robbery, and wanted Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) to intervene and get the case dropped.
Sarah nervously explained that she and Kit were no longer together – and Kacey didn’t receive the news very well. As viewers know, the reason they separated was to ensure that she was never placed in such a predicament.
During a visit with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), Sarah spoke of her fear and stressed that she was far too embarrassed to ask Kit for help. Despite requesting that he stayed out of her drama, Todd opened up to Kit in today’s (18 August) episode.
He declined to mention the full extent of the issues, but did say that Sarah needed to see him to address an urgent matter.
At the prison, Sarah reluctantly opened up about Kacey’s demands and said she needed his help. He reminded her that this the sort of nightmare she’d hoped to have avoided when she dumped him, and that he could lose his job with Weatherfield Police.
Later, the situation worsened.
Sarah was alone in her cell, though was quickly interrupted by a vengeful Kacey who wanted to know how the conversation with Kit went.
Apologetic, Sarah admitted that he wasn’t willing to help and there was nothing she could do. In a snap reaction to her words, Kacey leapt up and grabbed her by the throat, throwing her against the wall.
Will Sarah be ok, and will Kit eventually decide to help Kacey’s son?
