Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino looked like barely any time had passed as they slipped back into character for a special Romy and Michele reunion on Friday.

The actresses, now 63 and 58 respectively, stepped out at Disney’s D23 Entertainment Showcase in Anaheim, California, where they teased new details about the long-awaited sequel to their beloved 1997 comedy Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.

Almost three decades after first playing best friends Michele Weinberger and Romy White, Lisa and Mira embraced their characters’ famously colorful fashion as they appeared together on stage.

Friends star Lisa was dressed head-to-toe in pink, pairing a mini skirt and matching tights with towering platform heels, a fitted top and cropped jacket.

Her blonde hair was swept into a nostalgic half-up, half-down style reminiscent of Michele’s signature ’90s look, while a sparkling pink handbag completed the playful ensemble.

Mira, meanwhile, coordinated with her longtime co-star in a chic lilac trench coat cinched at the waist with a metallic silver belt and teamed with silver ankle boots.

During their appearance, the pair revealed a few tantalizing details about what fans can expect when Romy and Michele return to screens.

Almost 30 years on, the best friends are still running their Beverly Hills fashion boutique, which Lisa joked has become “really chic.”

This time, however, love appears to be on the agenda. The sequel will see the women attend a classmate’s wedding, prompting them to wonder whether they have neglected their own romantic lives while focusing on their friendship and careers.

Keegan-Michael Key is set to play Michele’s new love interest, while Rob Huebel will appear opposite Mira’s Romy.

The actresses began filming the highly anticipated sequel in Los Angeles in June, with 20th Century Studios confirming production by sharing a photo of the pair sitting in director’s chairs emblazoned with the title Romy and Michele 2.

The pair have since been spotted filming together in coordinating pink and lavender outfits, immediately calling to mind the outrageous fashion that helped make the original movie a cult favorite.

The sequel also brings back several familiar faces, including Alan Cumming, Janeane Garofalo, Camryn Manheim and Julia Campbell, while Breckin Meyer, Patrick Warburton and Nathan Lee Graham are among the new additions to the cast.

Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion was released in 1997 and followed two best friends who returned to their 10-year high school reunion determined to impress their former classmates – memorably claiming they had invented Post-it Notes.

Although the film was only a modest box-office performer at the time, it went on to develop a passionate following and become one of the most enduring comedies of the ’90s.
