Bradley Johnson has reportedly been axed from Emmerdale, with the Vinny Dingle actor set to leave the soap after seven years. Johnson first joined the Emmerdale cast in 2019, upon the return of Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), and has had a number of big storylines across his time on the soap. The Sun has now reported that the cast are “shocked that bosses decided to axe him but it’s all part of the ITV cuts and they still need to trim back the cast”. One of Emmerdale‘s most beloved characters is to be killed off during an explosive stunt later this year. Jimmy King, who has been played by actor Nick Miles since February 2004, will meet his maker in a truly devastating moment for his on-screen family. Originally arriving alongside his dad and brothers, Jimmy has turned from brutal multi-millionaire businessman to a comedic family man over the last 22 years. He currently owns half of the Home James haulage company, though can often be seen propping up the counter at the Main Street Café alongside wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler). His exit will coincide with the return of ex-wife Sadie (Patsy Kensit), whose return was announced earlier this week. Emmerdale favourite Bradley Riches has revealed his hopes for Kev Townsend’s return storyline and even teased the highly anticipated family reunion. Kev Townsend, played by Chris Coghill, entered Emmerdale back in September 2025 and played the role until his departure in January 2026. After his brief five-month stint on the show, the character was last seen narrowly escaping the clutches of serial killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) after he had become entangled in John’s plot to kill Kev’s estranged husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). Kev was also revealed to be the biological father of Lewis Barton, played by Bradley Riches, a fact he kept secret and was still a secret at the time of his departure from the show. Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) is playing a very dangerous game in Emmerdale, and now her months of manipulation towards Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) are starting to unravel. She’s constantly blowing hot and cold with the medic – allowing him to believe that he could never fully qualify as a doctor in one instance, and in the next, implying that she’s fully supportive of his career. After speaking to a HR representative about Todd’s behaviour, Jacob discovered that he wasn’t alone in being bullied, and that several other colleagues have wanted to complain about her. Emmerdale star James Hooton has celebrated his eldest daughter in a rare family update, sharing an insight into his life with partner, dance company owner Nancy Lucas, and their two children. The actor, known for playing the role of Sam Dingle on the ITV soap, took to Instagram to post a smiling selfie with Lucas and their two daughters, Lily and Ava-Rose.
