Emmerdale’s latest villain, Dr Caitlin Todd, is expected to leave the village as her storyline with Charity Dingle comes to a harrowing twist, with star Caroline Harker reportedly set to exit the soap after these scenes air. Last week, viewers finally discovered which resident was igniting fires on Emmerdale Farm. For the last few months, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) have been tormented by a secret arsonist who seemingly wanted to ruin their chances of a successful agricultural business. At first, it seemed like Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) could be the one igniting the blazes, possibly as a way to spend more time at Butler’s Farm after being evicted. The finger was pointed at Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah). He’d been lurking around the fields, and was spotted trying to torch his car. Robert and Aaron were adamant that they’d found the culprit, but it soon transpired that he was actually homeless and hoping that the insurance payout for the car would help with his financial crisis. Earlier this year ITV made a drastic and permanent change to its flagship soap operas, introducing a new “soap power hour” where 30-minute episodes of Emmerdale and Corrie air back to back between 8pm and 9pm every weekday. This reduced the weekly outputs of the two soaps – who last year came together for a one-off Corriedale crossover special – from six 30-minute episodes to five each. ‘Coronation Street’ will be jumping around the ITV schedule this summer (PA Wire) But with the World Cup arriving in June and playing havoc with ITV’s viewing schedule, the channel is making even more changes that will impact the soaps. Bradley Johnson has reportedly been axed from Emmerdale, with the Vinny Dingle actor set to leave the soap after seven years. Johnson first joined the Emmerdale cast in 2019, upon the return of Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), and has had a number of big storylines across his time on the soap. The Sun has now reported that the cast are “shocked that bosses decided to axe him but it’s all part of the ITV cuts and they still need to trim back the cast”. One of Emmerdale‘s most beloved characters is to be killed off during an explosive stunt later this year. Jimmy King, who has been played by actor Nick Miles since February 2004, will meet his maker in a truly devastating moment for his on-screen family. Originally arriving alongside his dad and brothers, Jimmy has turned from brutal multi-millionaire businessman to a comedic family man over the last 22 years. He currently owns half of the Home James haulage company, though can often be seen propping up the counter at the Main Street Café alongside wife Nicola (Nicola Wheeler). Emmerdale favourite Bradley Riches has revealed his hopes for Kev Townsend’s return storyline and even teased the highly anticipated family reunion. Kev Townsend, played by Chris Coghill, entered Emmerdale back in September 2025 and played the role until his departure in January 2026. After his brief five-month stint on the show, the character was last seen narrowly escaping the clutches of serial killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) after he had become entangled in John’s plot to kill Kev’s estranged husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) is playing a very dangerous game in Emmerdale, and now her months of manipulation towards Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) are starting to unravel. She’s constantly blowing hot and cold with the medic – allowing him to believe that he could never fully qualify as a doctor in one instance, and in the next, implying that she’s fully supportive of his career. After speaking to a HR representative about Todd’s behaviour, Jacob discovered that he wasn’t alone in being bullied, and that several other colleagues have wanted to complain about her.
