See Clint Eastwood’s must-see then-and-now photos as he celebrates his 96th birthday

Clint Eastwood is celebrating his 96th this Sunday, May 31, 2026. To this day he remains an indelible Hollywood icon, thanks to roles such as “The Man with No Name” in Sergio Leone’s classic Spaghetti Western trilogy, to his more recent work as a director.  Born in San Francisco, California, he’s come a long way from his early days in Piedmont, California, where he got kicked out of Piedmont High School between 1945 and 1946 for writing obscenities to a school official on the athletic field scoreboard, and burning an effigy on the school lawn.  Recommended videoYou may also likeWATCH: The Legendary Life of Clint Eastwood He would later transfer to Oakland Technical High School, and was scheduled to graduate mid-year in January 1949, although it’s unknown if he ever did. Must-see photos of Princess Diana in New York

Must-see photos of Princess Diana in New York

Princess Diana turned the sidewalks of New York City into spectacles! In The Diana Chronicles, author Tina Brown wrote that when the royal left her NYC hotel to attend an event in 1995, “a crowd of about two hundred fans were waiting on the pavement to applaud. The street was ablaze with TV lamps and the flashbulbs of thirty photographers waiting to get the front-page shot of the Princess in her clinging black evening dress with its plunging scoop neckline.” Despite the waiting crowds, it wasn’t the Princess’ first visit to the Big Apple. Diana undertook her first solo tour of New York in 1989 and returned multiple times throughout the 1990s, including just two months before her death.  It was in the Concrete Jungle where she reportedly met with John F. Kennedy Jr. and rode in an elevator with both Michael Jackson and Steve Jobs. The Princess also hit the steps of the city’s iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Met Gala and walked hand-in-hand with Mother Teresa in the Bronx. HELLO! will be …

Artists Revisit the Nude in Must-See Shows Across New York

Artists Revisit the Nude in Must-See Shows Across New York

This small survey is a perfect marriage of artist and curator: Rocío García is a Cuban artist who paints pictures of bodies under duress, while Carmen Maria Machado is an American writer of Cuban descent who specializes in body horror. Both are closely attuned to uneven power dynamics, which may be one reason García and Machado thought to foreground the artist’s Los patinadores (The Skaters, 2023), in which a quartet of headless, nude men chained at the neck skates through a prison cell. García painted these chiseled men Day-Glo pink, lending them a homoeroticism that appears at odds with their forbidding cell. That we are meant to take pleasure in looking at their decapitated bodies only makes these pictures even more uneasy. Bound figures recur across García’s paintings here, though it’s not always clear whether the conditions of their restraint are consensual, since the artist leaves us without information needed to make that assessment. The 2021 painting Lluvia azul (Blue Rain), for one, shows a nude woman placing flowers in a vase while, to her …

Avenue Q review | A crude and hilarious must-see musical

Avenue Q review | A crude and hilarious must-see musical

A star rating of 4 out of 5. From the 2026 revival of The Muppets Show on Disney Plus to Elmo’s follower count climbing north of 700K on X, the last few years have seen something of a puppet renaissance. Therefore, it makes sense that now is the time for the West End revival of Avenue Q, Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx’s musical comedy following the ups and downs of randy, foul-mouthed puppets. The key point of the show is that although these characters are made from felt, they’re just like us; Princeton struggles to find his purpose, Kate Monster bemoans her lack of a boyfriend, Rod is coming to terms with his sexuality, Trekkie Monster is a porn enthusiast and avid OnlyFans user. If you’re thinking that the last example doesn’t sound terribly appropriate for a puppet show, you’d be correct. Avenue Q, with its foul language, suicide jokes and graphic puppet sex scenes (yes, really) flies in the face of stereotypes, with the biggest laughs coming from the weird juxtaposition between cute puppets …

A Must-See Show the ‘Greatest Influencer’

A Must-See Show the ‘Greatest Influencer’

The closing image of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Raphael blockbuster, opening to the public on Sunday, is of a muscular man bursting out of a craggy hillside. As he does so, one jacked forearm blows right through the frame that surrounds him. Part of a monumentally scaled tapestry called Saint Paul in Prison (ca. 1517–21), it’s a ferocious picture of unbridled masculinity, bulging pecs and all. It might be read as the logical parting shot for a retrospective about a man whose paintings changed art history forever. But there is a wrinkle in that reading: the textile is not attributed to the Renaissance painter himself but to the workshop of Flemish artist Pieter van Aelst, since Raphael’s sole contribution was only its cartoon, which isn’t at the Met. Raphael died the year before the tapestry was completed, but the fact that van Aelst continued on without him suggests this Italian painter wasn’t necessary to finish the job. Tough going for an artist who was named a “master” by one of his patrons when he …
